I renewed my WoW account because I had only played for the free month and only got to level 20, so anyways I was wondering what you guys thought was the best community WoW site.

I have played a lot of mmo's before so I know what I'm getting into, but can someone answer my question?

Agreed. I quit a year ago after seeing my /played time and realizing the hurt that playing WoW so much put on my GPA. I was stupid then, and I put aside studying for scheduled guild events that would go until the wee hours of the night.

I'd strongly suggest playing the month you paid for and then stopping.

To answer your question, however, I only ever used Thottbot and MMO-Champion.

My time ran out today.

Don't really have a reason to get more time...as I don't really need anything in the game at the moment.  =  /

Thottbot is a site used to help gold buyers control the economy.  Use WoWHead.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about WoWHead. Yeah, that's a better site than Thottbot.

WoWhead has a really good in-game addon called Lightheaded. It lets you see the website's quest comments in-game, so you can get coordinates, locations, special requirements, and other info for almost any quest in the game. Highly recommend. :D

Soooo on that note is this game still open for new users? WOW's jedi mind tricks never really worked on me but I'm kind of interested in giving it a go. My only concern is that I may be late to the party.

Just stick to the official forums. They were good some years ago, dunno if that's changed. Or when you get in a guild, their forum.

I played WoW (relatively) hardcore for a couple of years.  These are the websites I frequented...

But now you have a life.... Right?"

I quit WoW last year, canceled my account and uninstalled the game.  It was fun while I was into it, but it eventually became a chore.  It was like a job and that was not fun.

There's a lot of good ones. And it really depends what you are looking for. But at lvl 20 you are probably just going to want a basic site for information as you aren't into the high end stuff yet.

You may want to try. www.wowinsider.com but that does cater more into the high end.
Thottbot is always a great too for looking up quests, items and so forth.
So is Allakahazham and its similar to thottbot.

Once you get to the higher end you will probably find some more sites and peoples blogs that are more specific to your needs and class. There's a lot of input and information out there!

I don't play WoW anymore, stopped last fall but have had two long time periods in which I played. Don't think I'll go back but enjoy your time there! Its fun, even though it sucks your life away! ;)
