I was going to make a top 10 games list, but then..

I realized I hadn't completed 10 games released in 2011.

1. Portal 2
2. Bastion
3. Okamiden
4. Bulletstorm

I feel badly about it. What a lame list.

i'm not far behind. i only completed 6.

When I looked at the subject title I thought it was going to be a "I took an arrow to the knee" joke, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

Well, I put a lot of time in older games, I guess. I'm the type of guy that rarely buys a new game full price. I'm playing Dead Space 2 right now, followed by Skyrim, but the year will be over by then. :(

Why didn't you take an arrow in the knee? This is most bizarre.

Well don't be discouraged mine isn't much better.

1. The Binding of Isaac - for all the small scale it had (made in 4 months), it had an infinite amount of power-ups, customization, and secrets, plust a story, that while very sparse, is very interesting and provocative.
2. Dead Space 2 - an awesome game, just... not the tense heir I desired to Dead Space.
3. Star Wars: The Old Republic - sure it is an mmo, still with the emphasis in the story, it changes enough things to give a different experience.
4. Shadows of the Damned - a game made by Suda 41, Shinji Mikami and Akire Yamaoka. Awesome in the setting, great in the details, just a little too linear and a clunky in the gameplay.
5. Ctulhu Saves The Day - an awesome throwback rpg, with a small budget, a big heart and a funny sense of humour.
6. Duke Nukem Forever - while not the best game in the world, a throwback fps with Duke Nukem can't be all bad! It has plenty chicks, guns and mysoginistic humour to last for a while.
7. El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metratron - Coooool visuals... boring gameplay. The plot while it goes interesting places, doesn't stand out due to poor pacing, confusing design and lack of set pieces.

@Knives: Like you, I only completed four 2011 titles this year. My solution to this was to compile a list using all the games I completed in 2011, rather than just the ones released this year. I haven't posted it yet, but suffice it to say, there's a 1999 game and a 2001 game alongside three 2011 releases. Just an idea, if you're really keen on the idea of writing a top ten games list. AhmadMetallic also makes a great point - if you haven't finished a game, but feel like you've played enough of it to form a solid opinion, then don't be afraid to include it on the list.
