Based on the 60s action movie about allied soldiers infiltrating a German mountain fortress.

-Possibly a squad based RPG with shooting as primary means of combat. But also conversation trees also play big role, as well as having to maintain cover as a german officer, stealth, intrigue.
-A trust mechanic a'la The Thing that determines how much your disguise is working, in essence; how convincing you are.
-Truck chase down a mountainside as you race to escape
-The tense scene on a cable car. Resident Evil 4 basically stole this idea from here.

And finally, a huge-ass castle and surrounding village, with spectacular mountain vistas beyond.  Oh, and it HAS to feature this theme:

Now, pitch your ideas for potentially sweet licensed games!

@josty81: Clint Eastwood was pretty disparaging of the film, calling it "Where Stunt Men Dare" because he typically did his own stunts, and they wouldn't allow him to do so in this film.

Haha that's pretty interesting. But it's a great movie regardless in my opinion. LOVE it. And I maintain the castle and surroundings would make a fantastic setting for a game.

good movie, don't think it lends itself well to a videogame.

Gotta think outside the box man. Adventure game with some action elements.

haha yeah i'm sure making a game based on a 60s movie that no one under 25 has heard about it is SUPER profitable :)

It might be way more profitable than a recognized movie title just because of the bad stigma that movie-games have gotten. If we don't recognize the title, we might give it more of a chance.

That being said, I don't think this movie lends itself well to a video game adaptation. Nice idea, though. And rad music.

I'm under 25 and I've both heard and seen it. (combining the two makes for a much better experience i can tell you, THOUGH watching bladrunner in black and white is actually better in my opinion)

Well I stand corrected. Good to know people know it.

Anyway maybe it would be REALLY hard to make a great game out of this concept but I love thinking up unconventional game ideas. Maybe that's why I'm not a game designer, I can't think in practical terms :D
