In a totally manly way of course.
If I saw Jeff in person I would probably run up and hug him.
thats not completely retarded at all

ZOMG YOU MADE A VIDEO GAME WEBSITE LET ME RUB YOUR GSPOT !
If I saw him in person, I would cringe at the no doubt ugly outfit he has on. I respect the man and everything, but come on.
Dude, I'd have to give Jeff a high five. Actually, Jeff and I were in Disneyland on the exact same day once. He wrote a Gamespotting article about it, it was on the day after Christmas a few years ago. When I went, I was totally unaware that it's like the busiest day of the year. It was pretty brutal and I didn't see him.

"I'd say, "Hey, love the site. Keep up the good work, I'm a big fan."
You know, just show respect and stuff.

Despite the fact that I see Jeff as a very smart and funny stuffed animal, I wouldn't run up and hug him. People don't seem to realise that simply because someone is a public figure that doesn't mean they are not entitled to privacy.
I did meet Gerstmann (sort of) at the '04 E3.
We did not hug.
It was one of the loud E3s and we had a quick moment as I realized that I was staring at Jeff from across the show room floor. We shared one of those non-verbal head waves because I felt like a real dork when he noticed I was staring at him. It wasn't any kind of man crush stare, it was more like a "It's day three. Geebus, I'm so tired. Why are my hands tingling?...Hey? Isn't that Jeff Gerstmann? Yeah, that IS Jeff Gerstmann. He looks just like he does on my 17" monitor at home. I wonder if he's seen any good games? I wonder what he had for lunch? I wonder what he- OH SHIT! He saw me blankly staring at him! Why am I staring at him?! Do something!"

That was my Gerstmann moment. Since then I've learned that Jeff doesn't like people, so I'm glad I didn't ask him about that lunch.
