Well, it WOULD have been Mass Effect 3, but since that's pushed, I'll say... probably Batman: Arkham City. Maybe Gears of War 3, I'll probably get a lot of replay value out of that on Xbox Live with my mates... yeah, if I have to pick just one, Gears of War 3. Depending on how long Persona 2: Innocent Sin is... gah! Gears of War 3, unless Persona 2: Innocent Sin has a nice, long story. Then Persona 2.
I'd have to say Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3, seems like the two games where I'm going to get the most bang for my buck, can't say which since I don't know what game my gaming buddies are going to play the most. If it were to play on my own, Deus Ex or Madden 12.
Skyrim definitely, as it's gauranteed to be excellent.
Argh! Too many great games coming out towards the end of this year. In no particular order: Deus Ex: HR, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Batman: Arkham City, The Sims 3: Pets(wait what?!), Battlefield 3, LotR: War in the north, Modern Warfare 3 (I don't consider a great game, but many meatheads would) and possibly Metal Gear Solid HD collection (possibly worth a look, possibly).
Had Mass Effect 3 been coming out this year I'd have had that and Skyrim maching it out until I could make my mind up which one would be my only game purchase of this year from this point forward.
Dark Souls, I have always been interested in Demon Souls but I don't have a PS3 nor do I know anyone with the game. I love Skyrim too, but having experienced a game similar to it in Oblivion im more interested in Dark Souls because it will provide me with a new gameplay experience.
Battlefield 3, because I've already pre-ordered Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Skyrim and Batman.
Preorders can be canceled, those games have not been bought yet. You need to select between those ones.
I would have to choose Skyward Sword, I guess. I'm nervous about how it will turn out, but I just can't turn down Zelda, ever.
Those games are already paid for in full and I like to cheat so I consider them bought.
Where the hell do you pre-order from? That's a bit dodgy them taking your money early and earning interest on it when they haven't sold you something...
@Chavtheworld: You can pay in full at Gamestops. If you decide to cancel, you can get all of your money back, or transfer it to another purchase. This was true the last time I bought games from Gamestop, which was a solid 4 or 5 years ago, so it could have changed.
I'd want the biggest bang for my buck, as it were, so I'd have to predictably go with Skyrim. Though if Guild Wars 2 makes its 2011 release, that'd be a good alternative.
Diablo 3 if it was coming out this year for sure. Fuck, man, I cannot wait for that game any longer...I need more. However, since it's pretty much up in the air at this point, Skyrim is the go-to "spend too much time playing it" game.
