If you had to choose one VG genre to never exist, what would it be?

Music games like Guitar Hero.

The choice is easy, shooters.  It has nothing to do with quality, just that I can't enjoy the gameplay of a fps or tps on a basic level.

Oh man.. I went in thinking: "Well i'll just pick some random subgenre" but NO. This is INHUMANE!
 
 I think Platformers will be the top choice, seeing how it's not as popular as the two others even though it was the shiz' back in the days.

I would eliminate the 'Bad Poll' genre.

Of those choices, I would say platformers.  If there were more of a selection, I would choose JRPGs.

Certainly none of those. They all have large fanbases, and people would hate me if I retconned their favourite genres out of existence.

I'd say RTS.  I like turn based strategy but not it's real time counterpart.  I hate running to find all resources on map and then controlling upteen number of troops.  Only rts I can stand are those with very few units to control.

Oh, it's an "Sophie's Choice" thing, huh.  I can only save two genres and the third will be killed by the Nazis.   Of the ones listed, I'd go with platformers since it's a dying genre on the consoles as it is.  But, my real choice would be "Puzzle" because I just dislike that one.  Too much thinkin' involved.

if i choose RPG, FF4 , ME2 and bioware would not exist so NO!...is i choose shooters, ME2 , Halo3, half life and soccon would never exist so NO...and if i choose platforms probably the adventure genre would never inveted, so i choose D Neither or E Sports Games

Well, you're being quite the foul of owls right now, aren't you?  This is a predicament I'm quite uncomfortable with. If I had to choose, though, I suppose it would be shooters, since I'm not playing anything that involves shooting in the behind-the-camera perspective (Well, as soon as I finish Dead Space, that is...). But I'll have you know you are being sooooooo unfair right now. 
 
Otherwise, I'd be okay if rhythm games didn't exist. Maybe I would never be delved into the addiction-madness I'm in if the first Guitar Hero never existed.

It's a tough decision between sports games and JRPGs.

Out of those, platformers, but I love all three of those genres.  Out of any genres, I would get rid of simulation games (flight sims and all that jazz).  If that didn't count as a genre, then Sports, if that didn't count, then RTS.

Man this poll has no options, but if I had to pick eeeh... RPGs, I guess. I always get the warm-fuzzies when a good old school platformer comes out, and I like a good shooter a bit more than RPGs I guess. But what of hybrid games?

Definitely FPS and TPS games.

Suddenly I'm starting to see why people hate you. Well, I'm gonna pick RPGs, because I don't like most of them. Fallout 3 is totally awesome, though. But I imagine it'd be more awesome if the combat worked more like an action game. Instead of just being able to run up to any enemy and shoot them in the face at close-range with a shotgun and then have them not even die or come close to it. Let's face it. That's pretty whack.
