That's...yeah. You guys said it all so I'll be comtemplating life for now.
IGN/1UP layoffs -- Rorie out at Gamespy
Sad news, but what frustrates me the most is that Rorie is one of the most entertaining writers I've read. Feel for all those involved, apparently IGN itself is likely to get hit to. Hopefully those affected find their feet.
Pouring one out for the puppies... we still love him here on Giantbomb.
I am sure he is a nice guy but I don't believe Giant Bomb has room for any more journalists.
Not sure I agree with that. If anything Alex's new written articles (which I love by the way) is proof enough that more written content would be good for Giantbomb. I'm not specifically saying Matt Rorie here but some interesting new articles wouldn't go amiss.

Thanks! I try rit gud.
There's no reason to not hire Rorie.
He's a fantastic, thoughtful writer and his Dark Souls piece is some of the best writing on this website. It seems like he gives a shit which is not something I can say for Ryan, Jeff, Brad or Patrick (sometimes).
Giantbomb is clearly not a personality driven website if they don't hire this fantastic personality

What? There's actually a lack of "journalists" here. We may have enough personalities for videos and podcasts, but not enough people writing content.
Poor Rorie, I'm sure he'll find another job soon enough.
Agreed, although I really love the Guns of Navarro articles. More like that!
Rorie is a better reviewer, writer and "'person"'(ality)'" than all of the other members of the current Giant Bomb staff (and each current member of staff is currently very, very good currently). It's a continuing hate crime that he doesn't work here (or, indeed, anywhere as of right now). Yeah, yeah, moan all you want Jeff, how about you actually pull through for once in your life and do something useful sorry even I couldn't keep a straight face whilst writing that.
But it's true.
Get Matt to write all new guides for every single one of the D&D-based BioWare games, he'd love that.

Rorie would be a perfect addition to GB. Probably the only person out there that would fit seamlessly in and actually offer something the community appreciate.
