6-10. although I went a little crazy this christmas..
In an average year how many games do you buy?
I'd say about one a month, and usually two/three during the big November/December flood of titles. So probably 12-15 a year.
That's full price, big ticket games. Smaller stuff ($15<) I buy as well, usually on Steam.
i don't know how many steam specials i gave into. probably bought about 10 or 12 normal games this season with probably half of that in the first half of this year. of course theres also the xbla and psn games. so at least 30.
Hmmm I have about 150 360, PS3 and Wii games in the last 4 years so I'm guessing after counting tradeins about 45 per year ish.
I would say only around 30 of those would be on week of launch purchases per year tho.
Edit: are we counting Downloaded games? I didnt include any of those if so.
These days there are so many cheaper games, downloadable games and the such, I probably bought over 75 games this year... I think this year got an atypical spike as I was buying some PC games I missed out on from 2005-2009...
edit - probably about ~30'ish disc games, not counting any downloadables, even games that are also on disk from Steam...
Too many to count.
I'm one of those sucker's who can't pass up a really good steam sale. That Black friday full week steam sale was a sale for the rest of the world too. I bought a good few games from that. I've just bought Commandos 2 for £3.74.
Now that is a pretty good game judging by the debut game of commados back in the day. Nostalgia baby!
Not counting downloaded games, I bought exactly 10. With XBLA and Virtual Console games, I'd say 14 altogether? Surprisingly I beat like 11 out of those 14 games.
It depends on a particular year and the releases in that year. I've had years where I bought a max of 5 and played 'old' games or games from the previous year that I never managed to play. I tend to play an MMO every now and then too which limits my purchases.
It averages around 6-10.
