I just finished watching episode 1 season 5 on Hulu and I still can't figure it out. I think it could be better of course, there is alot of crap in between all the the performances and the judging part is a bit harsh but I guess thats all part of American TV. Also it seems as if they have awesome acts dispersed with total shit. People come out and make a fool of themselves after some amazing dancer or singer. What gives?
Is 'America's Got Talent' a good show?
I can enjoy the train wreck that is the prelims, but after that I could care less.
According to Brian Brushwood from Twit and Revision 3 Fame, they pretty much pick their successful acts well ahead of time. You have to submit a video application to the producers, then they invite who they want to appear on the show.
So I watched one episode. And some bitch in a whore outfit painted some random shit I couldn't make out and made it into the next round. Show's kind of an embarrassment. Its like a terrorist recruiting tool. And the part that really chaps my balls is 2 of the 3 judges are motherfucking brits.
Never watched it, however that could be due to the fact I watch the proper, original show Britain's got Talent.
I hate all shows like that. It's just a poor way for people optimistic about their "talent" to try and become famous. I myself is very into my band and would love to have the opportunity to get a record deal, but never through a deal like on those shows. Guh, also it's just bad TV in general.
I saw it once and i found it kind of funny. Most of it sucked but there were some parts that was hilarious.
i dont understand why everyone is so against this.... im watching this right now and i saw a little girl sing opera like a seasoned pro, and then i saw these guys do one of those illusion acts where guys where black against a black bakground so you cant see em and they pick of guys up and make it look like theyre floating. ive seen the japanese do it a lot before but these guys are excellent. anyways, theres a lot of bullshit in there but for the most part its pretty cool. that girl was fucking incredible and easily made this show worth watching
Are the people saying "no" saying "no" because they actually think the show is of poor quality, or are they saying it because they just hate shows like this? I for one enjoy watching it.

"I enjoy shows like this. For example I watch American Idol when I think some of the contestants are talented, but America's Got Talent is pretty bad in my opinion. (I only watched a few episodes of the first and second season)

"A little bit of both for me. Honestly I watched it a week or two ago and it was good in spots, but god damn terrible in other spots. The whole concept of having the 3 judges past the initial round is retarded. Nobody that has advanced past the first round should ever get stopped by the judges. Also, the magic acts are stupid, the singing and dancing is unoriginal, and everything else is usually just not very interesting.
Oh, and there's Nick Cannon. Yeah.
that little girl will be rich when this shows over with.
the first seasons winnner, Bianca Ryan, lived around the corner from me. she has talent dude. made the show pretty cool when i first saw it because i knew who she was.
I've watched it a few times, it's not that bad. Just like American Idol and the like, it's a talent show, so basically it's only as good as the competitors on any given episode. I would like these types of shows more, though, if they screened the early rejects and didn't intentionally cast snarky judges. I don't know what's so appealing about watching people embarrassing themselves and getting their feelings hurt, but that's what these shows seem to be about half the time.
