Is anyone else using chrome experiencing shockwave flash crashes?

I can't go longer than a minute without it crashing, it's getting ridiculous. I've tried all the fixes google has to offer.

Usually when it crashes for me it's either because Chrome or the Flash plugin has been running for too long or there are too many tabs open. Otherwise it works fine.

Certainly more often than ever before.

I have the same problem as audioBusting, but that's only when I've left the browser running for a long time.

Though I did fix a problem where it crashed constantly by going to " chrome://plugins/ " clicking the "details" button in the upper right part of the screen, and disabling one of the two Adobe Flash Player plug-ins listed. If you searched on google you probably found that process out already since that was where I found the solution to my problem.

I don't know if you're experiencing the same thing, but I use Firefox, and yeah, the past few days, I find if I have more than like 4 or 5 tabs open, and at least a couple of those tabs have YouTube videos embedded in them or are a GB video, there is like a 50/50 chance that Firefox will freeze up and crash after like 10-15 minutes. I've only ever seen that happen once or twice in the past couple years on this machine, but the past week it's been happening several times a day.

Maybe all of your situations are anecdotal and unrelated, but I feel like some recent update of Flash must be unstable as fuck, at least under certain conditions.

I've certainly been having this issue for the past month or so. I carried out the same fix as Fearbeard, but unfortunately it did not work, the crashes continued. The only site where this really annoyed me was GB, since you can be 1 minute/30 minutes/however long through a video and it just crashes/ Have to close the browser completely and restart to fix. My solution has been to select the Youtube video setting on the site.

I had that problem a lot earlier this year, but it rarely happens now.

Yup, I'm getting weird crashes when playing videos on GB, and only on GB. The video flashes green, then starts "fastforwarding" without actually showing anything. Happens pretty often.

There was a memory leak causing any tabs with Flash running to shoot up in mem usage but it has been fixed for me, make sure Chrome is updated.

I'm on the beta Chrome channel, so maybe try installing that instead.

Yeah that's the buggy release of Chrome / the plugin then, looks like those running the beta version of Chrome have already had it fixed because that's exactly what was happening to me.

@Sooty: Awesome! I downloaded the beta and now I can watch videos again. Thanks for the tip.

Speaking of chrome and flash , lately I have had a bizarre problem with some flash videos, mainly YouTube but also some others where I have no sound. And its only for chrome if I paste the link in another browser it plays fine, its like sounds in Chrome has been turned off, but only for flash player. I have no idea what the hell that is but I my creeping suspicion is that since I use wireless headset and sometimes change audio device in windows that might have somehow fucked up the sound for Chrome/ youtube player. at GB im saved by the html 5 player though that works with sounds just fine. And just to be on the safe side , yes obviously I have checked volume settings in all players and soundcard.
