Just wondering since I really like a lot of music composed for video games and want to bring it on the go with me.
Is it weird to listen to video game music outside?
It's no more weird then listening to any other music outside. I don't get how being outside changes things.
Are you speaking from experience?Only weird if you make up lyrics for the instrumental pieces, then start singing it loudly while punching out anybody who doesn't sing along, while screaming "WHY DO YOU HATE MUSIC!?".
Seems people object to that.

Hahaaaahahahaha....I get it. -_-I can't make any decision of what is weird or isn't weird before I consult the internet.
depends how good it is. like if you listen to like, super mario bros theme, get the hell outta here. but if it's like a really good soundtrack go for it.
The cool thing is everyone else around you will have no idea what you're listening to anyway, so go for it.
Seeing how a lot of the recent video game music is damned good in relation to music in general, I can't see why it would be weird.
if you listen to it just because it is video game music and do not listen to any other music it is wierd
also
Red Dead Redemption
Mass Effect
Dragons Age: Origins
are soundtrack that should be in everyones playlist
I play the music at home when people are over and I listen to it outside too, you know at beaches and stuff like that. Some of it is great to listen to even for people who don't know what it is
I used to never listen to soundtracks for games up until the last year.
I mean littleBIG planet, uncharted 2, Mass Effect 2, assassins creed 2 all have amazing music tracks and I do a lot of driving for work so these make the mundane drives more exciting.
Though I'd think you were a bit weird if you wanted to listen to a game soundtrack ALL the way threw cause most game sound tracks aren't designed to be listened to like that with quite a few filler tracks or tracks that are just more background rhythms
Most of my playlist is compose by video games, anime and movies soundtracks.
Is that weird? Probably. Do I care if is weird? Nope.

I don't see why this is even a question, honestly. Unless you're walking around with speakers, blasting out the Halo theme.
What's wrong with that? I pick up most of my women that way.
Probably, but fuck it. Let you do you.
edit: I still crank the JSRF soundtrack 24/7 in and out of public
How can you NOT listen to this outside, man?
But go for it if you enjoy it. I enjoy music that I enjoy, so I listen to it, no matter what anyone says. It's very rare that I really end up falling for a game's sound-track, but when I do, I do so strongly. Starcraft 2 was enhanced beyond belief simply by the ludicrously good sound-track. I think it's, ultimately, what kept me hooked to the game for what's been over a year.
No not really. I have been listening to some Binding of Isaac music recently and my friends even say how good it is.
It's just weird to be outside. Why would anyone willingly choose to do that? It's considered a war crime in most parts of the world.
Well, it's a little weird in the sense that soundtracks very rarely make for good listening. Half of it is just tonal, ambient environment music, the other half is overly dramatic orchestral pieces that were recorded by a kinda dumpy, low-rent symphony, or someone's MIDI machine. Of course, for the exceptions, it's always fun to listen to shit no one has no idea about. I love weirding people out with Katamari soundtracks because it's weird and japanese, but still pretty enjoyable.
