Is there a new video player in the works?

I constantly have problems loading videos, be it on streaming or progressive, and have gotten to the point where I watch every non-premium video with Youtube instead of the current player. It seems like every video I play begins to chop up in certain spots for no reason. And starting a streaming video over and trying to skip to where I previously was (because the video restarts when you leave it idle for too long) is just plain impossible. Am I the only one having these issues?

Yeah, it's a known problem, many of us are having these problems after the new site went up, but it has probably nothing to do with the player itself, more like their new CDN provider (akamai), they are already looking into the problem.
