I'm still getting used to the new laylout and figured it might be easier to ask than bumble around, but is there still Achievement integration somewhere?
Is there still Achievement integration?
"Achievement tracking is gone. For reasons explained in a lot of other posts, we just didn't have the time to commit to making a system which is not officially supported by any API."
@finaldasa: I just signed up there a few minutes ago. Google is your friend, as always :D Thanks though ^.^
@finaldasa: I have had a rapt account for a long time now and I like it for tracking my achievements too. The desktop app they have is ass though
Now, that I finally S-ranked a couple of game, it's gone? Life is too unfair.
It's a silly thing to miss, but gb was the only place I did look at my achievements. And those yummy S-ranks..... =(
They've announced plans to try to bring it back when the new consoles come about, since there might be new, more stable APIs by then.
On the Big Live Live Show Live, on the Snide's Snake Pit stream, they talked about a bunch of cool ideas they have regarding achievement integration.

By the way, does anyone know a website/community that has achievement tracking similar to how it was on the old GiantBomb page? Aside from psnprofiles.com and trophy card sites...
Playfire and Raptr, I love Raptr.
I signed up on Raptr a few hours ago http://raptr.com/Morrow-x/wall :)
I'll check out Playfire! Thanks for the suggestion ^.^
@crithon: Nope. They literally created this new site from scratch. They had to re-create all of the features from the old site that they had 5 years to build up. They did not have time to do achievement tracking or quests because they are very extensive features to implement. Dave said they may add achievement tracking in the future but there are no plans for it at this time.
@morrow: I use Trueachievements, I'll link my profile there too if you chose to sign up I'm always looking for people to compare and play against. It's great tracking awesome stats and a huge community, it also weeds out cheaters and gives you a "true" achievement score.

I would love to see it make a comeback, but I would rather see them fix some of the already present issues first.
@wolfhazard: Thanks for the suggestion, but it seems this site is only for xbox users.

Honestly? It's a shame because GB actually had better achievement tracking than either of those. While it was maintained properly it worked better, was laid out in a more understandable way and it had better functionality than companies that do achievement tracking as a stand-alone service.
So for what it's worth, I'm fine with launching without it, given the scope of the redesign, but I'd love seeing it built back in down the line.
@morrow: Ah I figured you were I just read you were looking for achievement tracking so I figured I'd make a suggestion.
No but you can sync your twitter
Hell yeah! Who needs that sweet sweet achievement tracking... sigh.

@noelveiga: Nothing beats Raptr in achievement tracking. they have a client that lets you semi real time track stuff, you can also manually track hours like for PS3 games that has no hours tracking etc.
The Raptr client is extremely annoying, and because they have to justify it, they try to track crazy stuff like time played and the like and fail miserably, resulting in false positives and wonky stats. Not to mention the spam. Oh, God, all the spam...
To me GB was just right. Web-based, refreshing on demand, a few selected stats that made sense... and those sweet, sweet S-ranks.
@hanskisaragi: Agree to disagree, but also, I'm right and you're wrong :)
