So we have already seen the Tec-9 ,a gun that really hasn't been in too many shooters of late, appear in both Far Cry 4 and Battlefield Hardline. It even has been recently patched into CS:GO. Is this the year of the Tec-9?
Is this the year of the Tec-9?
The Tec-9 is the Luigi of firearms.
W...what is the Waluigi of firearms?
Two occurrences does not make it the year of anything.
Exactly.

The Desert Eagle.

It could be in the new Rainbow Six game, but I doubt that will come out this year.

I was about to say it will be in this years CoD but then I realized that all the guns are fake in that game.
It's not the year of the Tec-9, it's the year of the knife.

You mean the new Call of Duty's going to be Nerfed Warfare?
@video_game_king: It's all future weapons that looks like they are from Syndicate.
TEC-9 was in the Matrix. As such, that was the year of the TEC-9 because it's one of my favorite movies ever made. Similarly, it was also the year of sunglasses, the year of coats, the year of slow motion, the year of green, the year of the computer, the year of the machine, the year of the pills, the year of the rabbit hole, the year of women in red dresses, the year of making oatmeal and pretending it is real-world food and so on and so on.

Are you talking about the lobby scene? If so I think those were Skorpions.
Tec 9s were big in a lot of 80's and early 90's action movies but they seem to have fallen off within the last decade or so.
And we all know the best movie to feature the Tec 9 was Big Trouble in Little China
The tec-9 is also in CS GO. So yes, you may be on to something.
And it was patched in the last month and made it an overpowered, highly accurate death machine. So I think the year of the tec-9 is upon us.
Maybe the manufacturer is really trying to push licensing the Tec-9 to video games this year and as a result have inadvertently created the year of the Tec-9.
Lana from Archer uses Tec-9s. Just throwing that out there. She's probably the inspiration for their resurgence.
I guess... but both of those games are holding it two-handed, which really seems to be missing the point.

Two handed pose reads better in first person games. Holding a gun up with one hand always looks weird (unless there are idle breaker animations (relax animations)), so animators tend to pose with both hands even with sidearms.
@veektarius: so....year of mannish hands.
TECH NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYNE
Been a fan since 2005 glad to finally see him get some recognition even if it is his videogamegunalterego
Best Regards,

I can't believe this thread got revived. I did not know that the Tech-9 was in CS:GO. So it very well could be the year of the Tech-9 as its in three games so far.
The Far Cry, Battlefield, and CSGO models almost look the same, just slightly different texture and lighting.
I think thats why I don't like modern shooters too much, they all look very similar because they are trying to be realistic and true to life.
The Tec-9 is the Luigi of firearms.
You win the internet for today.
I hope not, that's a goddamned ugly firearm.
That's why it makes for a badass firearm. So ugly, crude, brutish, cheap.. death machine!
