It's expensive so people don't change there gamertag every day. When the 360 first came out it was free and everyone was changing their gamertags constantly. I didn't know who anyone on my friends list was because they all kept changing ther tag.

I don't recall it ever being free. From what I remember, you couldn't change your tag at all. Then they came out with the priced name changes. I'm almost certain there was never a free name change.

It does cost 800 MS points. Someone else was joking about raising the price. Because the TC thinks the price is outrageous.

Thought so. Although $10 seems kind of pricey, we should be glad it doesn't cost anymore.

I wish they didn't have an option to change it. All you have to do is sit down and think of a decent gamertag. Instead of adding a bunch of fucking numbers and next week thinking, "Man let me change my tag."
I decided a while ago to just use the same username everywhere, so I don't have to think about problems like this. So far, it's worked out great.
Also, they charge for it so every teenager changes his/her gamertag every week, which I imagine would put some strain on the servers and lead to a nightmare for the moderators.

A lot of the times, yes. But the true negativity only comes out when such a terrible thread is made. Why are you complaining about a price that you never have to pay?
Dude, just think of a good name to start with, and you never have to change it. I am content with mine, and face it, you probably weren't there immediately to grab your first name so think of something else. It's not a big deal.
I ask to see if anyone else feels the same way about something completely harmless as a name change. Not that big of a deal, who cares if people can't make up their minds about their names. Doesn't mean it's a terrible thread, just because I ask a question.
