I've been looking for awhile to try and tack down one of these because it is one of my favorite games from when I was younger (they used to have one at the local mall before everything was removed) I am just wondering if anyone else has played this or where to get one.
Killer Instinct Arcade Cabinet
Don't know anything about getting one. Keep an eye on craigslist and your local newspaper. KI was awesome, great fast paced fighting game. Lots of fond memories of the first one, never really got around to playing the sequel much.

"I've got it. Its called MAME.
" Yeah I can never find it on MAME or get me a version of MAME that works. "Then getting MAME to work should be your objective. Not finding an arcade which is- in this day and age- about as easy as finding the Holy Grail.
Not sure how anyone could fail to load an emulator however.
" I have the SNES version, good enough for me ;) "Then you have low standards, the SNES version is an abomination.
" @mylifeforAiur said:In all fairness I haven't played the Arcade version, also I often play with my dad, so perhaps i'm blinded by sentimentality ;)" I have the SNES version, good enough for me ;) "Then you have low standards, the SNES version is an abomination. "
To be fair in your defense, the whole concept of collecting arcade cabinets these days is purely based out of sentimentality as well. It's not uncommon for the SNES version of KI to be what you probably first played or even played mostly in your youth. I totally fall under this group too.
It probably didn't help I didn't see any KI cabinets in many arcades either, or at least they weren't as common as wheelhouses like SF2, MK1 and 2, NBA Jam, or Lethal Enforcers cabs at the time.

Oh and the N64 version of KI2 (KI Gold) still wasn't arcade perfect mostly because the arcade version used a lot of advantages of the CD medium which the N64 obviously lacked. A lot of frames of animation were missing, the music was all chipbased and all of the prerendered stages had to be replaced with 3D polygon environments. They also made some odd gameplay alterations.
" I can never find a MAME of KI that actually works. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. "Its a disk, so its pretty hard to find. Obviously I can't go into too much detail but I can say this- it does exist.
Oh, and to illustrate my last post-
" I can never find a MAME of KI that actually works. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. "Are you getting the .chd file that goes with it? KI used a hard drive, and the .chd file will emulate that. Without both the .chd and the ROM, the game won't work.
