The WiiU, because that's where Fire Emblem is going.
The PC, at this rate. Seems silly to do anything else anymore.
I will probably get them all eventually as I always do, but if Microsoft keeps going down the path they are now with X-Box 3 where in it's just a port platform with a terrible paid wall online service with no exclusives worth getting, then I doubt I will be getting one of them. I'm most interested in seeing where Sony goes from here. I think they are in the best position to steal the show if they can get their online service going right from the get go, keep up with the amazing exclusives line up like they have had on the PS3, and if they can get the hardware on the system to be easy for dev's to work with.
I swear to God, you made this topic like 2 months ago and it got locked..... Or someone else did but this seems really familiar

Remember when console's main strength against the PC was ease of use? Now with online passes, patches, firmware updates and shoddy ports, it's proving to be the inferior version of a PC, not a console. Let's hope they change that next gen.
Honestly, I'm deciding based on the games they have. I don't really need some multi-tasking set-top box, I've got that covered. What I need, are awesome games. So until something new comes out that really blows my mind, I'm sticking to my gaming PC.

I agree. For me, the toughest thing will be parting with my pre-established Friends Lists. I don't have a lot of buddies who game on the PC. They're mostly console gamers. So distancing myself from consoles altogether is going to mean separating myself from the more social aspects of that branch of gaming.
PS4, really wanted a Wii U but i guess Nintendo is not quite there yet.

I think I made a 'will you buy a Wii U' poll a couple months before it's release, and it turned into a Nintendo hatefest, so someone locked it.
Well, I have a pretty steep games quota of 12 for a system. It has to have that before I buy, unless the system goes on a deep discount or something (or I can get it super cheap used). As of now, I just plan on getting further into PC gaming. I'm pretty new at it, and only have a laptop (but it actually runs most everything I want to play at the moment). I can see me getting a Wii U because I still like Nintendo exclusives (and I loved Bayonetta, so the sequel being on the Wii U means that system already has one must-have exclusive).
So PC for sure (with an upgrade in the near future) and (probably, eventually) a Wii U. The Xbox didn't have exclusives I liked, and paying for online use is just plain stupid (especially when you're still bombarded with ads on the damn thing). The PS4 has a shot (also, whenever it gets the games. It took the PS3 a long time before I finally got one just over a year ago).
So...
PC: For sure
Wii U: Likely
PS4: Maybe
Xbox 3: Unlikely.
Though the 360 was the first platform I owned for this generation, I could have gone without and not missed out on anything.
New Xbox. All of the few people i'd play online with have moved to xbox. Plus, while it may not be an issue for the next generation of systems, I'm just sick of the inferior Sony ports for 3rd party games. Though it is still a 60/40 split for me currently.
I have a PC I can just buy a new Card for when the next lot of Nividia cards come out and I'll probably buy a the next batch of Microsoft and Sony consoles (for exclusives).
I'm unlikely to buy a WiiU though. Actually I have never bought a Nintendo console in my whole life but have owned almost all of their handhelds. I have never bought a Sony handheld though. There's a strange pattern with my console purchases that continues I guess. I have very little love for Zelda and Mario which seems to be the only reason to care about a Nintendo console.
My first priority will be getting a new computer. I also plan on getting the next Sony console. Unless 3rd parties really latch onto the Wii U and put out a bunch of great games I'll probably pass on it. I'll probably pass on the next Microsoft console too unless it gets a bunch of exclusives I'm interested in playing.
Ok, I think someone else made a different thread with a very very similar title.....@the_OFFICIAL_jAPanese_teaBAG said:

@fox01313: Yours is a pretty hostile response to a thread that's openly acknowledging the point you're trying to make.
The title is prefaced with the phrase, "Knowing what you do now (very little)." It's not like @BestUsernameEver is rabble-rousing everyone into a pissing contest.
So, y'know. Relax.
I'll most likely get all of them eventually, like I have the last few generations. Have a PC that still doesn't really need any upgrading yet. I'll get a Wii U when Rayman Legends comes out. Next-Gen Xbox and Playstation I'll get as soon as there's an exclusive I want to play.
Well all of them at some point. But if you mean which one I'd pick up first probably the next Xbox.
Playstation for sure.
So far all I know is that Microsoft will still be taking money from people to use any kind of online feature on the next Xbox so they can suck my left nut while the sweat from the other drips into their eyes.
All I've really heard about Microsoft actually not taking money for online was from forum users and I never listened to anything those types of people say.
If what they said was true their lives would be a little more entertaining than sitting on forums. You know, in the sense that they would actually be working for Microsoft and be worth listening to.
As it turns out they don't.
Getting a Wii-U for Christmas. It is just the console that appeals to me the most. Nintendo are the Disney of Video-Games and that is just... me, really. I have had doubts about Nintendo recently, what with the New Super Mario Bros games being just... annoying to me. But yeah, they always come together for me. Super Mario 3D Land is one of my favorite games of the last ten years.
I screwed up. I should have picked other, because I'm prob. going to get a WiiU, the next Xbox, and upgrade my PC hardware.
I picked "Other" because I have not and will not buy a Wii U (or any Nintendo product), but i plan on buying both the next Sony and Microsoft consoles at launch. Not sure why that wasn't an option... I bet quite a few people will be doing the same.
I built my PC in 2011 so that should last me a while. We don't know anything about the next consoles, but I'm more inclined towards the Sony side because I have a feeling Microsoft will stick with paying for Xbox Live Gold to access online multiplayer and the PS3 has always had more exclusives that interest me than the 360.
In 2013, all the 360 has currently announced for it is Gears of War: Judgement. The PS3 has Dust 514, God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, Tales of Xillia, Beyond: Two Souls, Atelier Ayesha, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Puppeteer (possibly also Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle). The decision for getting next consoles will be practically only about software, and Sony has the upper hand for me.
Well pretty much which ever comes out first most likely by the end of next year. Eventually I'll have them all so there really isn't a preference although whatever Valve release I hope it is worth it.
As a rule, I always wait and see how each system stacks up after launch and what games/exclusives each system has. Sadly, I doubt I will be in a position where I can own every console for a generation so I have to generally pick the one that will suit my needs most.
I'm also a PC gamer as well, so that adds a bit to it. I use that system for more than just gaming so upgrading at some point is more of a necessity than anything else. Judging by the games and franchises that I like, I will probably be going with Sony this time. For some reason, the stuff I want to play is usually either a PlayStation exclusive, or just happens to have better performance on that system. Most of the big FPS or RPG type games that come out will probably be played on my PC anyways, so consoles for me is almost exclusively for third-person action, fighting, racing, or platforming. Everything else for me is PC based.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Just upgraded my video card. I'm staying with my PC for a while and don't plan on changing that until the new consoles mature enough that I know which one I want to buy first. Eventually I'll end up buying them all though.
I'm gonna stick with PC for a while. Though, I'll probably end up with most of the consoles (probably not the WiiU).
I got the Wii U, I'm definitely getting the next Xbox. I'm reasonably interested in seeing what comes of the valve box, so I may pick one up if it's in tune with my interests.
@HistoryInRust: I hear you man, I ditched consoles this year and most of my real life friends only game on consoles. It was a hard step to take, but it was well worth it. I choose E because I will be upgrading during the summer and will have dual GPUs (both 660 ti cards)
I might pick up a Wii-U, but only for Pikmin 3. I am really in love with the series and is the only game that is appealing.
Oh, if you want to make quick PC gaming friends; I am certain that anyone of us (PC peeps) will be willing enough to game with you.
I am sticking with my PC for the time being. As it stands, I doubt I'll go back to a console as my main gaming platform unless deep discounts and 60FPS becomes the norm rather than the exception, and I really doubt that it will.
Note the use of "main" - I will probably at some point buy a next gen console. Or maybe I'll buy all three. In fact, I'd be very, very surprised if at some point I didn't pick up a PS4 or the third Xbox. But if I do pick one up, it will be for exclusives only.
I'll probably finally pick up a PS3 at that point, although I might just stick with my computer at least until I finish college.
To be honest, I've had less and less of a motivation to pick up a specific console since the advent of the 360 and the PS3, though. There feels like less and less of a difference between the two, I miss the XBOX/PS2 days when there were a lot of console-specific games and it all depended on what genres you played the most.
I'll start with the PS4, get a Wii U when Nintendo happens, and pick up an XBox towards the tail end of the cycle. Pretty much what I did for this generation, though I had a Wii pretty early and waited until MGS4 for the PS3. Only got my 360 this summer.
all of them and i hope apple puts something out to
PC - for sure I'll be dropping some major cash into this (because its also my work PC).
Xbox - probably
PS3 - probably, unless Sony does something stupid like price it at $600+ like last time.
Wii U - based on what I've seen here on GB, Nintendo needs to polish it up more, make it faster, less clunky.
Another brick of silicon and transistors to throw into my electro-box to make the vidja games shinier.
