Ahh boss fights usually these big time bad guys (or in some cases good guys) are usually what stand between you and victory. As games have gotten bigger with more production value and higher budgets as well as our own rising expectations, we've seen some bosses that range from being the size of a human being, to being colossal! Being a fellow who belives in "bigger is better" and with all the crazy stuff we've seen over the years I have to wonder just who is the largest most gigantic boss ever to appear in a video or computer game?

A couple of notable ones come to mind when I think of this question most specifically the giants of Shadow of the Colossus. And of course no one in that game was bigger than the grand daddy at the end Colossus number 16! The dude seriously was like climbing a mountain just to get to the tippy top of his head.

However as grand of a scale as that boss was there may be bigger still and one that comes to mind for me is non other than a monster all the way from the 1982 arcade scene, the original Sinistar! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Sinistar was a space shooter arcade game where you had to destroy a giant monster of the same name. What was really creepy about it was the fact they even made the game speak as you'd hear him taunt you with phrases like "Beware I live" and "Run Coward!" and back in 1982, people crapped their pants when they heard that! Seriously go on youtube and look up Sinistar and you'll see what I mean. Getting back on topic though you as the player flew around in this little dinky ship which on screen may have only been as big as a finger nail which in the game I'm sure is a fairly big ship, and then Sinistar shows up and he's pretty damn huge compared to you. If I had to guess I'd say Sinistar would probably be the size of large asteroid or maybe Pluto. Of course I could be wrong.

But those are my guesses folks. Are these the largest sized bosses in gaming history? Or are there still bigger? And if there are bigger do share!

The first time I had a serious "holy crap" moment due to boss size was the boss in Serious Sam. He towers over the arena you just busted your ass beating and it takes a little bit for his immense scale to really sink in. It was pretty fantastic.

The largest boss in any video game is Brahman from DDS2, because he goes to infinity.

I guess you could count Gigyas from Earthbound too

All the bosses from Painkiller were pretty big and mean looking. That was a great game (and not tedious overrated crap like this Colossus game....)

Yeah Bayonetta's final boss is pretty crazy huge. As mentioned before you kill it by punching it through the solar system.

Definitely the final boss in Bayonetta. Pretty massive, and you know what else? You punched her into the fucking sun.

It's not out yet, but in Ashura's Wrath you fight a dude who's like 1000x the size of the Earth.

Cronos from god of war is pretty huge...
Although not the biggest guy, Savior from Devil May Cry 4 is fairly large as well.

I love ridiclously large bosses. I remember laughing my ass of the first time I got near that boss in Serious Sam and realizing that my character didn't even reach a quarter of the way up it's hoof.

The largest boss I've ever seen in a 2D sidescroller was that last ship in that old Genesis game Target Earth. It was probably like 30 screens across and 5 screens high and you end up going inside it. It dwarfed all the other battlecruisers you fought getting up to it by a lot. It was pretty epic for 1990.
