Duck Tales , Advanced Dungeons and Dragons , I was going to say the Star Tropics games but then I saw the first one was made in 1990 :( So I guess instead I'll add the obligatory Mega Man , along with every other Mega Man game made before '90, and The Legend of Zelda , heck, I'll even throw in Zelda 2 for as bad of a game as it was, I have memories of running around that game with a friend when we were younger trying to figure out what the hell we were supposed to do and what happened to our Legend of Zelda series.
Edit: Oh, and while I never played them, I have to add them to the list out of principle for how amazing the contest surrounding the games was - SwordQuest.

Ha sorry yeah, I thought I forgot something. Well Id probally say SMB also. Super Mario Bros 3 for me mainly because its my favorite of the first 3, oh, and Super mario Land amongst others.
Cocoron, which is like Mega Man, if Mega Man featured shuriken-shooting Optimus Prime/Pete the Dragon hybrids. I called him "Jeff." All of this is true.
