Feeling bad for bringing this up but will there be TNT and an unprofessional show this week? I would totally understand if the crew took a break but the shows are still scheduled in the coming soon tab of the home page.

#2 Posted by xxizzypop (578 posts) -

I was actually going to ask this as well out of curiosity, but couldn't find a way to do so without potentially coming off as crass. I know the scheduled SwS video didn't go up, but that was more than understandable considering the timing.

TNT and Unprofessional Fridays are scheduled for this week, but I would not be surprised if the crew took them down.

#4 Posted by BigJeffrey (5178 posts) -

Fuck Video Games.

@pyrodactyl:

I wouldn't bet on it dude. It might be a few weeks before content comes back more regularly.

spoken with scoops was scheduled for tonight, it isn't anymore. That's fine, I can hardly watch quicklooks without getting teary eyed.

#7 Edited by xxizzypop (578 posts) -

@jasonr86: Which would be pretty reasonable, but Brad was also talking about the crew wanting to be back in the office (which they all seemed to want), they're all some pretty resilient dudes and I could see them getting their soldier on and just working through it as well.

#8 Posted by Rabbykayn (227 posts) -

Jeff said on the podcast they will return when the time is right. Honestly I don't feel ready for a live show, and those duders will going through things a lot worse than me.

#9 Edited by jimmyfenix (3753 posts) -

Patrick said on twitter no spookin with scoops which is totally understandable

#10 Posted by BeachThunder (12412 posts) -

I hope so, this would be a perfect opportunity to play some of Ryan's favourite games.

#11 Posted by TheHT (11785 posts) -

Probably not. Wouldn't want 'em anyways unless the crew wanted to.

Even if the guys don't have a Thursday Night Throwdown docent mean we cant, right?

#14 Posted by poveren (87 posts) -

I was expecting at some point a thursday/friday show that was a tribute/fundraiser with doublefine, harmonix, CAH, etc in attendance.

#15 Posted by Itwongo (1245 posts) -

I'm guessing they won't, but they might surprise us again.

#16 Posted by Humanity (10070 posts) -

I wouldn't mind seeing them do a TNT where they just dim the lights, put out a bottle of scotch and drink.

#17 Posted by xxizzypop (578 posts) -

@humanity: In absolute silence. I want to see Jeff creepily stare into a zoomed in camera lens for an hour and a half doing nothing but drinking jameson's

#18 Posted by SuperSolidSnake2019 (73 posts) -

The schedule is still up. I like the idea of playing some of his favorite games if they did try and do something. But I can understand if they are not up for it at this time. Personally I haven't been in the mood to play video games recently although I have tried.

#19 Edited by thatdutchguy (1283 posts) -

I think it´s gonna be 2 weeks at least before they are doing live shows again.

You seem to have misspelled Mike's Hard Black Cherry Lemonade.

We'll find out soon.

I think one of the reasons why they might be reluctant to put out the older Ryan shirts, or have a fundraiser in his name. Maybe the idea of using his name, or death to make money. And I understand. At the same time Monday when they posted this I was in a meeting over skype talking about my late grandfathers business. It is very hard thinking about someone in very unemotional terms.

#23 Edited by xxizzypop (578 posts) -

@professoress: Well, that was only on account of the stipulation of them busting open scotch. Let's be real, I wanna see the man down inordinate amounts of MD2020

#24 Posted by Video_Game_King (36272 posts) -

I thought they said they weren't gonna do them, or at least the TNT.

#25 Posted by Boboblaw (329 posts) -

I'd be pretty surprised if there was any content this or next week. Would be neat to have a Ryans favorite games TNT when they do eventually come back but I don't think it'll happen.

I think on the Bombcast Rorie/Jeff mentioned about something being in the works as far as donations to Anna and putting something up by the end of the week.

They said when they are ready.

Whatever feels right.

#30 Edited by CitizenKane (10508 posts) -

I can wait until they are 100% ready to get back into the swing of things. I personally have enough backlog to last a while. I want them to be ready when they come back and not rush anything just for the sake of it.

#31 Edited by McLargepants (395 posts) -

The schedule for Scoops last night stayed up well past Patrick tweeted he canceled it, so just being the schedule does mean much right now. I guess I wouldn't be surprised about it going either way at this point. I'd keep your eye on twitter, that's probably going to be the quickest way to find out. Obviously, I hope they take as much time as they need, we really don't need to see them play games as much as they need to recover. I'm sure they'll make the right decision, whatever it is.

#32 Edited by Wolfgame (878 posts) -

I am behind them 100% on what ever schedule they determine for resuming site content. But I am standing by to e-maul the troll that comes to the forums inevitably to complain about the lull of content.

#34 Posted by davab0202 (15 posts) -

I could use some new content. But I understand if we don't get it for a while.

#35 Posted by ottoman673 (568 posts) -

TNT's off the schedule, now.

Worth Reading and Unpro Fridays aren't, though

#36 Posted by TheMasterDS (2137 posts) -

I'm hoping both being on the schedule means they intend to do it. If not they'd publically cancel it on Twitter. Also Worth Reading. Now that NEEDS to happen because we need a nice compilation of all the Ryan Davis tributes.

#37 Edited by ADAMWD (613 posts) -

I was thinking Friday might be a good day to play through some of Ryan's games, show the t-shirt design for him, maybe talk about donation stuff, etc?

#38 Posted by cloudymusic (1230 posts) -

I think it'd be cool to see them do some kind of "Ryan's Favorite Games" stream once they come back. But if they don't come back for a few weeks, then that's 100% fine by me. I just think the idea of such a thing would be nice as a way to remember Ryan whenever they're ready.

#39 Posted by sionweeks (656 posts) -

I hope so, this would be a perfect opportunity to play some of Ryan's favourite games.

I completely agree, this would be a perfect idea! Obviously it is their decision to work if they want, but this would be a fantastic tribute to Ryan.

#40 Posted by Brake (1126 posts) -

I was actually thinking the same thing. Obviously, the ifs and the whens would be up to the crew, but I feel like it would be a nice gesture. Pour one out and play some video games.

Also, they probably know already, but it bears repeating: we will wait and we will be here.

#41 Posted by JJOR64 (19065 posts) -

Doubt it.

#42 Edited by myketuna (1756 posts) -

I'm fairly sure Giant Bomb will remain "dark" for a good while. I say let the guys chill out and grieve the way they want for as long as they want. Then, when they feel they're up to the task of streaming for our dumb asses, they'll come back. But for now...

And TNT is off the schedule now. Guess no TNT then. Friday's still on it though, I'm optimistic in saying that seems like a sign it's not cancelled. Bet we'll see T Shirt design and some special guests.

#44 Posted by Mr_Skeleton (5154 posts) -

I really doubt it, the guys are still probably not ready to do this.

#45 Posted by The_Laughing_Man (13629 posts) -

Camera pointed at a empty chair lit with a single light as Ryans Summer jams play softly in the background.

#46 Posted by Darji (5293 posts) -

Yeah don't expect anything before the bombcast is my guess. But there are some exciting times this weekend for video games. EVO 2013 is this weekend^^

Hell yeah! Took the weekend off to watch EVO.

#48 Posted by davab0202 (15 posts) -

I also took the weekend off work for EVO. Third year I've done it.

#49 Posted by StriderNo9 (1149 posts) -

Totally understandable guys. Take as long as you want.

Yep, and wasn't giantbomb built on friends hanging out talking about games? That's their philosophy for quicklooks, live shows and bombcast. The main focus was commentary and riffing, something that is completely broken up now, and I'm certain it will take some substantial time before they get even close to their old ways, let alone ever being that again. I know it's a bit dramatic, but Jeff and Ryan joking with eachother started and built Giantbomb's style. Even thinking about that, who's Jeff going to play Kinect games with? That's what I am most worried about, Jeff.
