My friend and I have run into a dilemma. We are looking for a game that is co-op and is essentially a mulitplayer Skyrim (I know one doesn't exist, but still) We have played every shooter that has come out in the last 5-6 years and most co-op games. As far as I can tell from keeping up with upcoming games, nothing really coming out is co-op that isnt a shooter(AC3 maybe, Torchlight isnt coming to consoles anytime soon and Diablo III wont work, he has a Mac, I have a PC) So I guess the question is, what/If any are some suggestions for a good co-op, non-shooter. The last thing we played that wasnt was Dead Rising 2.
Looking for a good Co-Op,non-shooter
Lord of the Rings War in the North. It's combat is kind of simple, but it's really fun. I had a blast playing it co-op with my friend.
There's also that game Hunted: The Demon's Forge which I hear both good and bad things about. I haven't played it, but everyone I know that likes co-op and has played it has liked it. So look into that as well.
Portal 2 or Dawn of War 2 both were pretty fun in coop and they are not shooters.
Dungeon Siege III is great, also there is a multiplayer skyrim mod (it just blows).
And Trine 2 if you haven't already played it.
Rayman Origins, Castle Crashers, Trenched, Trine 2, Portal 2, Rock Band, those Dynasty Warriors games, Fable 2/3, all those fucking lego games, Skate 3?, Viva Pinata TiP, and maybe Dark Souls?
I know you said no shooters, but if you haven't played any of these co-op you should (and really, there isn't really much to choose from when you just want non-shooter stuff):
- Splinter Cell Conviction
- Gears 3
- Left 4 Dead/2
- COD Zombies
- Mass Effect 3
- Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
- Resident Evil 5
- Syndicate
- Borderlands
- Red Dead Redemption
- Crackdown
- Halo Firefight stuff
- Lost Planet 2
Hope that helps and I didn't screw up too badly
Sorta old, but Marvel Ultimate Alliance was dope.

I never understood the appeal. It was one of the worst gameplay experiences I've ever had. Every time I played it with a friend, I fell asleep.
Give War in the North a go. It's very good imo, and I'm not even a LotR fan.
Other games, well play Renegade Ops! Other tons of non-shooters on XBL like Dungeon Defender, Crimson Alliance, Castle Crashers....on and on.
Have you all played Sacred 2(360)yet? Great game, an isometric pc port in a HUGE world. And damn fun to play with complementary characters.
War in the North.
Peace Walker, you could say it was a shooter but that would be pushing it, other than bosses you can sneak through the whole game. It also has lots of base and troop management.
White Knight Chronicles 1+2 if you have PS3's, you can easily lose months to that games online multiplayer.

Splinter Cell Conviction is a fantastic game with fantastic co-op.
What about Two Worlds/Two Worlds 2? I know they aren't the greatest of games, but my friends loved playing them.
Conviction, probably the best co-op experience I've ever had... wish they had released expansions to it!

I agree. I still can't fathom the negativity over this game. It is definitely one of the tightest gameplay experiences I've ever played. With enjoyable co-op missions, and modes like Hunter, it is easily the definition of co-op. More games need to do this. Last Stand however... That is annoying! :P

They released DLC that added more levels.
"Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3" has fucking good CO-OP. The enitre game was built with it in mind. It was released for the MAC and PC.

you just blew my mind
People have already mentioned all of my favourite co-op games apart from Dishwasher: Vampire Smile
@ozzdog12: Diablo 3 will be on both Mac and PC, and I imagine you will be able to play together regardless of OS.

- Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game
- Splosion Man
- Ms Splosion Man
- Zeno Clash
Oh god do not play a Splosion man game coop, it'll ruin your friendship. But if you do, do it local. The networking tends to make that impossible-er.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of the Light was a ton of fun in co-op. Might want to try some RTS games. Red Alert 3 was all about co-op.
I have told the moderators several times to include the concept couch co-op in the concepts list so that searching for this would be feasible, but they rejected this wiki enhancement, so the best you can do is go to http://www.co-optimus.com/ and find that information by yourself.
