Gonna tag @Alex and @Jeff to this as they might be the most interested to know this fact, that beetlejuice himself is joining the cast of the need for speed movie. here are the details of his role from the joystiq story.

Michael Keaton will play the role of a "reclusive and eccentric" race organizer and host, one that invites drivers from around the world to participate in some sort of underground supercar thing.

i guess with the rise of fast and furious, it doesnt surprise me that this movie seems to actually be moving ahead. with need for speed really having no overarching canon (except for Razor Callahan of course) this movie COULD be good.

I was already pretty happy about the Aaron Paul casting and I also quite like Kid Cudi (as a rapper/singer atleast) but THIS? Hell yeah Michael Keaton!

You know, of all video game adaptation to the big screen this is by far the one i'm the most excited for. Just consider how stupid and awesome the Fast & Furious movies turned out. I for one could use more of that stupid awesomeness.

then you got yourself a worthy up and coming opponent to the fast and furious movies.
