Microsoft Giving Out 800 Points In Return For Purchases In October

It's October and a slew of retail games are fast approaching, but if you want to spend your time with a bunch of Xbox Live Arcade games or other Marketplace content, Microsoft is poised to give you a present. During the next month, if you manage to spend a total of 2400 Microsoft Points, you'll get 800 Microsoft Points added to your digital wallet "as a thank-you gift," according to Microsoft. 

These kinds of deals are normally associated with the Summer of Arcade block, and despite the fact that this promotion coincides with Game Feast, any content you purchase will go towards the total needed to receive the 800 points. For example, you could go finally buy up all that Oblivion DLC, then buy Comic Jumper, and then scope another few bits of content like Avatar clothing and still get the reward. Neat, huh? It's like Microsoft is encouraging us to buy anything we want...

Awesome... too bad I haven't received any of the points from the summer of arcade games yet. You should change the date from November 30th to "whenever they feel like getting around to it" 2011.

Well crap! I just bought Death Spank: Thongs of Virtue, Dead Rising Case Zero, and the new Clap Trap expansion for Borderlands... Grrr...

And wouldn't you know it, RB3 comes out at the end of the month.  Looks like I have a DLC buying spree in my future.

Lucky timing for me, I was buying some Fallout 3 DLC (late to the party) that ME2 Shadow Broker DLC, so I guess it's time to get something to go with.

I got a discount on Microsoft Points today at the store, wonder what's going on...

That's good to know. I was planning on buying Comic Jumper and the Alan Wake DLC this month... and thought of maybe picking up Limbo. So it works out for me :D

This is all fine and dandy, but I still haven't received the point I should've gotten from the Summer of Arcade offer. I'll probably end up spending 2400 points (Comic Jumper, Mass Effect 2 DLC and Dead Rising: Case Zero) but they better not do the same as with Summer of Arcade...

ME2 Overlord + ME2 Shadow Broker + Borderlands Revolution + RB3 songs are all things I wanted to buy, so I will benefit from this promotion.

Well, I guess now would be a good time to buy those Street Fighter IV costumes and all the Mass Effect 2 DLC I am missing... hmm...

Hydrophobia and Comic Jumper should do the trick.  Maybe some Dragon Age stuff I skipped.  Costume Quest.

Make sure you do the trick to get the content on two xboxs and this is worth it.

This is actually a kickass promotion, since you can buy whatever the hell you want. I might have to take 'em up on the offer.
