Modern Warfare 2 now the best selling game of all time in the UK

I didn't know we were still talking about this game. Yeah it sold a shitload, we kinda get it.

and the developers didn't see a penny. Good job Kotick!

This is like Avatar being the highest grossing film of all time, it makes me feel like records like this are totally irrelevant to any aspect of quality. Sure Avatar and MW2 aren't terrible, but it's a shame they are at the top of the all time lists. At the end of the day, this is the entertainment industry, and it is about how well you sell your product as much as it is about how good your product is. That's why Kane and Lynch is top of the charts this week.

I'm quite surprised. You would have thought everyone would have got sick of that franchise by now. I certainly have. 

Heaven forbid that a game which is universally acclaimed by critics (94% on Metcacritic) becomes the best selling title of all time.
