Whatever you say, i'm just gonna put this out there.
Super Mario Galaxy, Wind Waker,.
Only games i've ever pre-ordered. Man....
Oh yeah and if Metroid Dread ever happened? THAT.
Most anticipated game ever.
Mine was Smash Bros. Brawl. Every inch in my body wanted to play that game ever since the first trailer was shown.
Whenever any new Metal Gear Solid is announced usually fits the bill. I also got pretty damn hyped for Fallout 3 last year and was crushed. This year I Batman: Arkham Asylum was looking great but I have kind of cooled down on that one a little. Come to think of it this year there has been plenty of stuff I really wanted to play but nothing I am really hyped for.
No offense if your a big fan, it's only a joke, so I'm not saying duke nukem forever is bad or anything.
Twisted Metal 2 was bad ass. After reading that EGM cover story years ago i couldn't wait to pick it up. I had never at the time even played the original. It's too bad they haven't been able to emulate that experience again in the series.
For me it was Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, i've never looked forward to a game more than that in my entire life. And what's better is it actually lived up to my expectations and was totally awesome.
Mario 128/Mario Galaxy
On a side note, Halo 2 is probably the most anticipation/hype I've ever seen for a game. At least in the past 7 years.
I'm kinda disappointed that no one's said anything about Persona 5.
Mine would be a tie between that, and Halo 2. I threw up at school, got home, and my mom had bought me Halo 2, so I was pretty happy.
Until I was so sick I couldn't play it, bronchitis and asthma isn't a fun combo.
Super Mario World
Halo 3
Elder Scrolls IV
Tales of Monkey Island
Those are the ones that stick out the most anyway.. A lot of the time, with things like GTA and Zelda, I feel pretty "meh" about them until much closer to release. It happened with Vice City, San Andreas, IV, Windwaker and Twilight Princess.. I just didn't get particularly interested until a few weeks before their releases.
Earthbound 2/Mother 3. I know there's a fan translation, but it'd be nice to actually be able to play it on the road.
" If they announce a retail Castlevania game for 360, with Vanillaware-style hand-drawn graphics designed by Ayami Kojima, a soundtrack by Michiru Yamane(naturally) and metroidvania gameplay... that. "
- System Shock 3
- Dark Cloud 3
- Knights of the Old Republic 3
I know that there are (or will be) games that are the "spiritual successor" to these titles, but that doesn't make them true sequels which is what I'd like to see. Excuse me for wanting more of the same, updated and better than ever, but I loved the previous versions of these games and want more from those franchises.
Either Halo 2 or the WoW expansion Wrath of the Lich King were probably the most anticipated actual games I've ever experienced in the past. I bought into the Halo 2 hype and found myself outside a Gamestop at midnight for its release. And Lich King was all anyone could talk about back when I was still a WoW-addict.
Halo 2 was such a big deal when it came out. It's hard to beat that. They had the alternate reality thing that really had people going crazy. And there was so much secrecy. The multiplayer turned out to live up completely.
The fact that they were able to keep the Arbitor a secret up to release....It will be hard to ever match that I think.
