What was the most disappointing game you have ever played?
Most disappointing game you have ever played.
Hmm.. I would probably place Force Unleashed 2 or Deus Ex 2 here over Brutal Legend." Probably Brutal Legend. "
However! I would definitely say Brutal Legend had the most Brutal turn in which I went from "this game is amazing" to "What the fuck is this shit?".
" @phrosnite said:Hahahaha, he said Diablo, hahaha that's funny!DiabloLOL Final Fantasy 10-13 for me "
I'm lying, I didn't even get the joke you were laughing at :(
But I'm on board with the Brutal Legend thing.
It went from "This is pretty good" to "Aw bummer" in a couple of hours
Possibly Beyond Good and Evil...
At the moment I'm currently disappointed with the brokenness of Dead Space 2. I'm loving the game so far, but the infinite load times and disappearing weapons just make me want to quit ;_;
@phrosnite: Yup, episode 1 was pretty disappointing, the only really memorable part was the Zombine quip from Alyx =/
" Possibly Beyond Good and Evil...I remember actually laughing out loud because of that.

Just a loud "Hah!" really but still considered a laugh and then the followed by the thought "something needs to happen soon though"
" Assassin's Creed "are you for real ? a game that is graphically stunning, has one of the greatest original IP historical stories of this generation and some kickass action, but is flawed by repetitive gameplay (personally i dont think its repetitive one bit) and a few gameplay hitches (walking up walls and the occasional bug) and you list it as the most disappointing game?
thats unreal ..
for me its always been Damnation
" @phrosnite said:As a HUGE Prince of Persia fan I expected AC to the spiritual successor of PoP. Boy, was I disappointed. Lazy-ass controls made for idiots, atrocious combat system and the repetitive missions f-ing killed this game for me." Kingdom Hearts re:coded is pretty disappointing, but I'll give the award to the most predictable answer ever: Devil Survivor.
" @Ahmad_Metallic said:.. the controls system in AC, where you have four buttons tied to four actions that could all turn into 'hostile' actions by holding RMB , and the mildly complex climbing mechanics for different types of ledges etc.. and how tapping Space makes you jump the other way and all those little moves that tied together create a beautiful chain of climbing tricks, REALLY own PoP's wall-running-based moves, which are anything but diverse.. if you jump onto a pole, you switch between four directions like a robot and then jump. and there's a flag for you to stick your sword into and slide down at the end of almost every climbing sequence. not to mention how the wall-running places are always marked for you to step onto" @phrosnite said:As a HUGE Prince of Persia fan I expected AC to the spiritual successor of PoP. also the fighting in AC, being as simple as it is, is much more diverse and complex and fun than that in PoP.. in pop all you do is slash/power slash, in addition to kicking the enemies and watching cool kill cams. in AC there's a stealth approach and an assault approach, and a hint of strategic combat when you pick whom to kill next based on their power and position. you can also climb places and trick them and drop them down, etc..
if anything, AC improved and expanded anything typical-PoP offers.
I'd also like to add a personal opinion : i beat AC twice during 2007-2008 and i never thought for once that the missions were repetitive. i only got that point of view when i read people's complaints on the internet.. for an original IP thats offering you so much, its only natural for the missions to not be as long and diverse as the sequel would be. also it made perfect sense, story-wise, that you need to kill 9 different top men. all located in different places and requiring different approaches and levels of caution
Wow, I guess I don't have one... yet. I suppose I've not really had expectations for many games and the ones I actually anticipated turned out great.
Actually, scratch that. I was really disappointed about Super Paper Mario since they turned it into some type of platformer instead of an RPG.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Too much filler. "Oh hey, we have to go to this dungeon. Oh no! There's a rock in our way! Let's spend 4 hours going out of our way to get bombs to blow this rock up so that we can proceed. We have to do boring side quests to get the bombs? That doesn't matter, cause it'll make the game longer! Yay!"
It was fun at times, but mostly I was just incredibly bored due to all of the filler.

That's an objective fact, you literally repeat the same handful of mission types with very little variation throughout the entire game.
let me rephrase : i did think the missions had the exact same formula, its just that they felt different enough for me to see them as a logical part of the story (assassinating 9 top men) and enjoy it nonetheless.
i mean i never went "what? you want me to go some place and kill someone 9 times?" i rather went "there are 9 bad leaders spread across the holy land for me to hunt after and kill. gather information and work my way to each one's unique assassination location and circumstances"
Probably Fallout: New Vegas. I really liked fallout 3 but New Vegas just lacked what fallout 3 had. Thats not to say New vegas was that bad though it was still fun
For me: MAG. God, it had no variety to it and prided itself on a 256 player gimmick. Alright, sure, it was "massive" but that doesn't excuse Zipper from having terrible animations and gray-brown colored textures. On top of that, it was far too rigid in its faction design: only being allowed one character slot made that game unappealing for anyone with friends who played on opposing teams. That was not worth the original $60 pricetag.
Spore, Assassins Creed, Gran Turismo 5 and Crackdown 2.
Assassins Creed was massively hyped before release and was mediocre at best. The second game was a huge improvement and I'll at least give the first game some credit for establishing the series.. but it's hard to defend beyond that.
" @Ahmad_Metallic: Assassin's Creed is ridiculously repetitive, and it is a problem. Glad it got fixed in the second one. "I thought AC2 was just as repetitive as 1, which is why it's one of my choices for most dissapointing.
But my #1 choice would have to be the original Fable.
" @BulletproofMonk said:.. just what is a game based on an assassin who lived centuries ago supposed to be about or to feature in order not to be repetitive ?" @Ahmad_Metallic: Assassin's Creed is ridiculously repetitive, and it is a problem. by your logic, Hitman is so repetitive its sick !

Kane and Lynch 2 - yee i know I shouldn´t be expecting much about a K&L anyway but here are my reasons:
-3rd person by far my favorite genre, even more than first person ones
-I like john woo movies
-I like criminal "lyfestyle" movies and tv shows
-I dig the handycam artstyle for K&L 2
-I like china.. wish i were living in Shangai right now
yet the game screw all that together by sucking soooo much it´s unvelievable.
