Me- Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal at least a dozen times over the past 4 1/2 years. You guys?

NOTE: This is not a question on  time in multiplayer or time spent overall in a single-player game, just how many times you've gone through a campaign. Don't say that you've spent 300 hours in Oblivion, say that you played through a game ____ times.

I used to play Sonic 2 obsessively. Not sure how many times I finished it as a kid, but that and Super Mario Bros would be at the top. I've played Metal Gear Solid quite a few times as well.

I've played through Fallout 3 at least 5-6 times.

#4 Posted by Hashbrowns (650 posts) -

I played through KotOR seven times on the Xbox, and three times on the PC.

So I played KotOR's campaign 10 times in total.  Those were the days.

From what I can remember, I've played Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X, Shenmue II (for Xbox) and Halo a LOT.  There are some PS2 games on my list too but can't remember them atm.

I've played through Bioshock 7 times. I just loved the story, setting, etc so much...

I think I beat Resident Evil 4 around twelve/thirteen times or so. Normally not a huge fan of those shooter-type games but I was obsessed with that one for a-while. I'm still unsure why.

I've played through Call of Duty 2 four times.

#9 Posted by DerekDanahy (864 posts) -

Gears of War 2 and Dead Space campaigns 5 times.

#10 Posted by Deathdealer108 (290 posts) -

I played through Jak and Daxter 6 times, 3 of those to 100%. I also have helped 5 people go through gears co-op along with 2 runs alone so 7 times.

#11 Posted by CowMuffins (1760 posts) -

Once, twice maybe. Starfox 64 is the only game I've replayed 3+ times.

#12 Posted by Bigandtasty (3202 posts) -

RE4 about 11 times.

#13 Posted by walls (96 posts) -

I've probably gone through each Baldur's Gate at least 5 times. The D&D customization makes it far more enjoyable to replay them.

#14 Posted by TheFreshmaker (132 posts) -

Resident Evil 4 maybe seven or eight times.  I never even cared for the "new game plus" or whatever it was called.  I liked the challenge so I would start over from scratch again and again.

#15 Posted by hakunin (384 posts) -

Off the top my head:

Final Fantasy X three times
Persona 3 three times
Currently on my second Persona 4 playthrough (at the very end at the moment trying to get 100% compendium and beat the NG+ boss)

I can't count the amount of times I've played through DOOM and DOOM 2

#16 Posted by xenoNfluX (31 posts) -

Half-Life 2 and the episodes at least 10 times... every time I significantly upgrade my PC, I replay it!

#17 Posted by c1337us (5751 posts) -

Metal Gear Solid would be the most although by this stage I have forgotten the exact count but its a clear winner over Resident Evil 4 which I know I have beaten 5 times. Neverwinter Nights the original Onimusha would also sit somewhere close to RE4.

Wow, how could I forget about the Half-Life series? I've gone through the first one at least 5 times and 2 has also seen several playthroughs.
#19 Posted by Pinkshley1 (453 posts) -

I played Sly 2: Band of Thieves a lot! I loved that game.

#20 Posted by Cloneslayer (1624 posts) -

RE4, i lost the exact count. lots of time

#21 Posted by Black_Rose (7785 posts) -

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Like 7 times, I was on my 8th playthrough but stopped for some reason I don't remember now.

Follow up is Resident Evil 4. Beat it 5 times, 2 on Wii, 2 on Gamecube, 1 on PS2.

#22 Posted by Themanohall (397 posts) -

I've played through paper mario 5 or 6 times. I used to love that game.

#23 Posted by Pavlo (57 posts) -

fable. about 5 times

#24 Posted by DarkGamerOO7 (574 posts) -

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I have no idea how many times I replayed that game, hell sometimes I would get halfway through the game, and start over again. XD I've must of played that game like 6-8 times.

#25 Posted by gingertastic_10 (4141 posts) -

Three. That was with Fallout 3

#26 Posted by Sabata (823 posts) -

I have a MGS3 save data that says I've played through it 11 times. Shot all the little frogs and everything.

#27 Posted by TGB (105 posts) -

Final Fantasy VI, thats the nice thing about having a 13 possible party members. But then again, under that logic I should have played Crono Cross 25 times.....

#28 Posted by jonnyboy (2920 posts) -

Freedom Fighters on the PS2. That was such a good game.

Or possibly Turrican 2 on the Amiga. Better than Metroid, Contra and R-type combined. Literally.

#29 Edited by rokkis (74 posts) -

FFX four times, and Mass Effect three times.

Jones in the Fastlane - a gajillion times. And it's still fun. Omg, I need to play it again now just from thinking about it. Brb

Edit: And Pinball Fantasies - a bajillion times. If it counts. :)

Just replayed that a couple of weeks ago. Went through that a bunch of times over the years as well, its up there with Ratchet.

Oh yeah, and now that I remember this I'll add it. Played through the original Kingdom Hearts at least seven times.

Me and a friend would watch each other play through this beat 'em up on the Genesis all the time.  I wish I remembered the name.  We probably both played through that game over 200 times. Wish I was making that number up.

#32 Posted by DaDiabeetus (5 posts) -

I played the first three Spyro the Dragon games a combined total of 30 times or so. I still play them every so often.

#33 Posted by tippinator (71 posts) -

I've played through FFVII 3 times which is a surprise because I can count the amount of RPG's I've played on one hand.

#34 Posted by Optiow (1745 posts) -

I have played through call of duty 1 about 4 times.

#35 Posted by C2C (855 posts) -

Portal.  I beat that game five times, and three of those times were on different systems.  Yeah I like that game :)

#36 Posted by Hamst3r (4451 posts) -

I don't like replaying games, so it's not something that happens often. Whenever I start replaying a game I end up quitting a few levels in and never finishing that play through.

Games I've played twice:
Half-Life
Half-Life 2
Postal
Postal 2

I think that's it.

#37 Posted by c_rakestraw (823 posts) -

I've lost count on the number of times I've played through Freedom Fighters. I must have done it a dozen times (or at least somewhere close to that amount) over the course of the past few years I've had it. Though, it probably helps that there's replay value in playing through the levels trying different strageties.

The only other one is Okami. I've done five playthroughs for that game thus far, and I'll probably start my sixth one sometime soon. I think Okami's the one single-player game I've played multiple times despite that there isn't any real replay value.

#38 Posted by AuthenticM (3698 posts) -

That would be Morrowind. Yes, I've played hundreds of hours, but I also created new characters a lot. Believe me when I say a lot.

#39 Posted by ryden14 (8 posts) -

yeah it was definitely metal gear solid ahh the good days lol

i played it on my portable ps1 all the time on my way to wrestling tournaments

#40 Posted by zombie2011 (4968 posts) -

Gears Of War around 4 times.

#41 Posted by WreckinRodRumbler (121 posts) -

Any Grand Theft Auto game more than 5 times.
Streets of Rage 2 - Countless times.

#42 Posted by End_Boss (3220 posts) -

I must have played through The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time a dozen times.

#43 Edited by Demokk (145 posts) -

- Mega Man X5: 10+ times
- Half-Life 2: 6+ times
- Mega Man X6: Around 5 times
- Warcraft III: 3-4 times
- Half-Life: 3+ times

Old-school:
- Final Fight 2: 10+ times
- Most Mega Man titles at least twice

I suppose fighting games don't count :P

#44 Posted by GunnBjorn (2911 posts) -

Funny, i never had the urge play through a game again after i finished it, not even when i knew that certain games had multiple endings.

#45 Posted by luce (4045 posts) -

MGS3 like 5 times

love that game

#46 Posted by gamefreak9 (2344 posts) -

Man i guess i really am crazy, Warcraft 3 along with tft every time, about 10 times, and Halo 1, about 100, i beat it everyday from start to finish from the day it came out till awhile later... prolly bout, best part about it is that first 10 times were prolly from easy to heroic and the rest legendary... that was a game... but the second one only once... that was such a dissapointment to me... story was cool it was just... not as smooth.

#47 Posted by buzz_killington (3532 posts) -

I think I played through Max Payne 2 four or five times.

#48 Posted by AndrewB (7490 posts) -

Baldur's Gate 2. For a single player game that can run you over 100 hours, I've played through the full game at least 4 times (probably more), and countless times of starting a new game and playing usually through the first chapter or so before something draws my attention away and i lose the savegame.

#49 Posted by TMThomsen (2070 posts) -

Duke Nukem 3D, Resident Evil 4 and Max Payne over 10 times each.

#50 Posted by Snipzor (3317 posts) -

Deus Ex:                       ~20 times

Max Payne 2:               ~25 times
Eternal Darkness:      ~10 times
Beneath a Steel Sky:  ~8 times (Spaced out)
Fallout 2:                       -Exactly 60 times (Finished it today, marking it as my 60th time)
Freedom Fighters:     ~8 times
U.N. Squadron:           -Not enough

This about does it. The top games I could think of that I played too much. All of which are from beginning to end, every time. Not long games (Except Deus Ex and Eternal Darkness), after about the fourth time I memorized the locations of each key thing.

Which is actually a good thing considering my memory issues.
