How might one connect an N64 controller to a PC?  Is there a special USB connection I can purchase or am I stuck modding the crap out of one?  Is something similar possible for an original xbox controller?  Thanks for your help.

Just curious, but why?

I just use my xbox360 or ps3 controller, and even if I'm playing an n64 game on my PC they work great.

Plus, the n64 controller is so damn uncomfortable. -.-

Yeah, I use my 360 controller for emulator games and it works just fine.

They used to make something that goes to USB (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-N64-2in1-Controller-Adapter/dp/8565000168) but ebay is probably the best bet of finding one now adays, unless you sucumb to the evil and check gamestop/eb games, they sometimes have accessories

I don't have any of those just lying around, and I don't have $60 to spend on a new one.

I love using my 360 controller on PC games.  It is probably the best gamepad out there for PCs.

This is all true. Some emulators even support the xbox pads rumble, which is mad awesome.
To be honest, TimesHero, it really is best to buy the wired 360 pad; it'd probably be cheaper then getting the n64 usb thing these days.

There are USB adaptors that exist, but I can't imagine they're easy to find.

Do you think it would be possible to get a 4 controller one?  Or would I have to buy 4?

Umm, If you have a controller there is a method to just make it compatible for your pc. It requires actual cutting wires and connecting shit.

Just get an adaptor, that's the best way really. Especially if you want to use the controller with the console again. I have one that has sockets for both Playstation and N64 controllers, it's pretty nifty.
