Name a console or a game you have that is rare

A SNES....

I guess Super Mario RPG because the game was like $50 when I bought it a couple years back.

Idk...I have Rez for the PS2 and Dreamcast...as well as an import copy for the PS2 with the Trance Vibrator thingy :P

nothin. I have a bad habit of selling games when Im done with them. So I always sell my rare games, before they are rare. 

The special Gold Cartridge version of Zelda 64.

Basically the whole planet sold out of their first shipment of ALL copies of Ocarina, and I didn't have a preorder (this was before you could always expect the Best Buys and such to have the games if the pawn shops didn't). So I hit up every single game store in my area, one by one.

At the very last one in reasonable driving distance, I got in line at the counter. The guy in front - directly in front - of me was yelling at the clerk about not getting his free T-shirt, or one that was too small, or something, with his preorder...of the Gold Version of Zelda 64. After 5 heart-pounding minutes of listening to this increasingly ugly exchange, the guy decided to return the whole thing because of whatever was wrong with his stupid shirt. He left, and I hominaed for a second to make sure he was out of earshot, then I asked with a straight face if they had it. The clerk gave me an ironic smile and said they "just got one in," disentangled it from the crap the guy returned with the game, and sold it to me.

This was at the end of November, and I didn't see Zelda in stores again till February.

the oldest console I have is a sega genesis.

well i don't have anything rare but i know someone who had a phantom.

I still have my Super Nintendo and all of my old games for it.

SNES plus games, aswell as "Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb" I'd say its pretty rare, for stores anyways, got it on Ebay :P

Seeing "rare" being used in the place of "old" by all but one of the above posters makes me sad.

I no longer have anything genuinely "rare".  The closest things to being considering  rarities in my possession at the moment would be a complete copy of Ogre Battle on SNES and a sealed copy of Suikoden II (which is more closely associated with being "in demand" rather than actually rare).

Burger King games? I don't know if they count, I mean they don't make them any more.

Spoiler: Gold OoT is not rare. A heap of people I know have it, and I pretty much always see them in pawn shops.

An original copy MGS1 and FFVII are worth a fair bit in good condition. By original I mean 'original'. Not platinum, not re-release, but bought when they first came out. And if I remember right, PAL MGS1 is worth more than NTSC.

Not only do I have a TurboGrafx 16 and a TurboGrafx CD, but I have an Intellevision as well along with the Intelliivoice attachment.

All my old/rare games/consoles I sold because I was a stupid kid. I used to have a CDi which was quite rare. I also had The Great Giana Sisters for the Amiga, which was super rare.

Psychonauts for the PS2 is the rarest game I own. Only 400,000 copies out there. But seeing as you can download it on Xbox Live and Steam, and free through Gametap, I don't think it is worth much.

I've got several, old PC games complete with the box, the instructions, & original disks (or floppies). I'll take some snaps. The main thing is that it's very hard to find old games in pristine condition or even with all the parts.  For instance, one hard one to find is Arcanum. I've got the original boxed set with everything in it.  The only one they sell now is in some Xbox-like case from Australia.

I have every game boy ever made. Every style and such. i guess those are collectable. I still have my snes and a ton of games. I have NBA Jam Tournament Edition i think that's kinda rare. Idk i'm not a big collector.

For systems I'd say the only thing I have that is "rare" is a TurboGrafx 16.
