Name A Downloadable Game That You Would Warn People Not To Buy.

I'll start off don't buy Deep Black.

Yes I know it sounds like a porno. But its a third person shooter I bought on PSN for 15 bucks. Everything about this game was poorly executed. The shooting doesn't feel like it has impact and the weapons feels weak, the story makes no sense, stiff animations and broken cover system. The whole game just fucking sucks don't bother with it. If there was a quicklook of this game the GB staff would have a good laugh. Just stay far away from this game or you'll regret buying it.

I can't think of any duds right now. Though Fat Princess looked like fun but it felt all wrong. Didn't like it one bit.

Every game is downloadable..

Costume Quest. It's a game without many good ideas, and it manages to run those into the ground pretty quickly.

Rag Doll Kung Fu: There was a special promotion two years ago that I can download the game for free. The game is ugly to look at and was no fun to play. If the cursor was selected on the game on the XMB, a cover of the song of Kung Fu fighting played loudly on loop. I thought it was going to be fun since it was made by some of the people who made Little Big Planet but I was wrong. I immediately deleted the game.

Another game you should stay far away from is The Curse Crusade.

Don't let this trailer fool you. Believe it or not I thought deep black was more fun then this game. The curse crusade was just garbage. How the fuck did the developers make a story about a demon curse so boring. If that wasn't bad enough the combat was sluggish, the game got very repetitive and feels old, the demonic powers was lame and weak. This whole game was just a complete mess. Fuck this game and the people who made it.

Agreed. Was going to say Zombie Apocalypse NDA but more people need to know about the flatlining gameplay Bastion falls into after the first 5 minutes. There's no feeling of character growth, you're just firing new weapons and fetching trinkets. It's not annoyingly tedious, just nothingy.

But really I don't recommend the TMNT: Turtles in Time remake. Or any beat-em-up really, but that's just me. I can't even enjoy Castle Crashers with four people.

The Punisher: No Mercy. My god it was a bad game, I'm a huge fan of the Punisher but this game was more like a mod to a FPS than a full game.

I second Hydrophobia, waste of time.

SpaceChem. It's not a bad game, but it made me feel really stupid.

Dark Souls on PC. One of the worst ports ever.

Speaking from all of the downloadable arcade games I've played... Shoot Many Robots? I don't play a lot of downloadable games, and all the ones I have played I've enjoyed to varying degrees. Shoot Many Robots is probably the most lukewarm, though... Super bland gameplay, but then everything to do with the gear is at least pretty funny.

Otherwise I hear Bloodforge is pretty crap.

Also I think Hydrophobia Prophecy is alright... Lot of wasted potential, though, after they introduced the most intriguing mechanic at the very end only for like the last 10 minutes of gameplay.

Any game from direct2play.com. No matter how cheap they are. You're better off spending the extra money for the Steam version. At least that way you'll know they're all in English.

Hydrophobia XBLA version. It has a certain amount of charm....but realy stupidly bad. PSN and PC updated version are better...still a bad game.

Not a troll post, as others have the same opinion. I was bored within 20 minutes, and I didn't feel the story nor the rather excellent narration carried the gameplay at all. I ended up playing it a bit over an hour, hoping it would finally click, but nope.

What would a non-troll post be? Hydrophobia? Amy? Expendables 2? What should I post to conform to your ideals vis a vis troll post vs. non-troll post? I would be intrigued to know.

BloodRayne: Betrayal. It may look cool, but it plays like shit and the platforming sections with lava are god awful. Do not buy this.

Iron Brigade on the PC. Hopefully, my problems are isolated, but I've had hell trying to get three other friends into the same game. Every time, one of us has had connection issues, though not because of our own Internet connections or even GFWL.

If you're not having issues, I envy you and your ability to play this game about love and manliness with three other duders. If you're on the fence, wait for a patch.

Don't even accept it for free - It's that bad. The "best" that game has to offer are a few clips you could seek out on the YT, but really, don't bother, the developers are clearly their own biggest fans.

The original Double Dragon on xbl. Unless you have to own every version of this game just don't bother. Nostalgia goggles be damned, I really dislike this version of the game and I guess that means I hate the arcade version too. To me the NES one was better.

Sine Mora, XBLA game, utter shit, wasn't ever designated a 'hell-shooter', the time attack and other modes that would be actually fun to play are locked to the third and fourth highest difficulties in the game. Even so, it's just a horrible game to play in general, the story is so gimped by the language barrier it isn't worth listening to...actually reading would be more appropriate, because they didn't bother getting english speaking voice actors.

Yeah that game could have been much better.

For me I buy alot of downloadable games. The reason is because there's not alot of gamestores close to my area.

I second Fat Princess. That looked like a great idea and a ton of fun, but man those matches can fucking drag on for awhile. Also, Torchlight . Not that I necessarily think it's a bad game, but the Diablo-style click fest is just not fun. I really tried to have fun with it, but it never clicked (no pun intended) with me, even after ~20 hours

Limbo. Hideously boring. Art style can't carry it.

Sonic 4. That game shouldn't be played by anyone.

Infamous: Festival Of Blood. I really think that downloadable game was overrated. I beat it within 2 hours and it wasn't special.

I bought into the GB hype and got it on PC. The art style and narration were not enough to make up for the boring gameplay.

People saying Bastion are crazy. I thought Limbo was pretty lame, but I could see why someone else might like it.

I have rarely regretted purchasing a game. I don't even know why I bought that one. I was hoping it would be fun to play with my wife, but we both got bored of it almost instantly.

From Dust. The controls are garbage, story is meaningless, and some of the situations they put you in are straight up aggravating and not fun. Plus I hear the PC port was terrible.

Ilomilo. It just never managed to click with me.

Outland. That game is a hot piece of garbage in my mind, and I can't even remember quite why. Probably poor movement and combat.
