NeoGAF Bans Denis Dyack

Edit:  Anyway, why are people rating Too Human so low?  The demo felt very solid.  Giant Bomb says the story is good but the gameplay is weak.  Gamespot says the gameplay is good, the story is weak.  Ign claims the game has ps2 graphics.  etc.- wtf?   This feels like a hate train more than anything"

"This is especially shitty after NeoGAF recently went out of their way to create and manage a hate-free pre-release thread.  They banned several people for trolling it, and wouldn't let people talk shit about the game until after it was released, and then they could give their opinions--however negative they may be--without sounding like assholes.  Dyack himself was posting there a bit recently, and then to go and call NeoGAF the worst gaming forum, and to do that when there are forums like gametrailers and gamefaqs.  There were a bunch of supporters on the site as well, and the mods were going out of their way to see that there was a place for those supporters to be free from the hate, and then he turns around and does this.

I say fuck Dyack, and his shitty three star game.  Here's another intellectual quote that is quite fitting: "It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt."  If Dyack still has a job after Too Human fails, I think he'd do well to remember that."

Best part is, Dyack still won...This is more free publicity. All that idiotic forum drama got his game a lot more attention that it would ever have netted on its own.

There are tons of major and minor developers and editors all over NeoGAF. You should have seen James Mielke responding to criticism of Giancarlo's review. Man that guy is like a high school freshman XD

Honestly I see no problem with it...he was asking for it. Plus I kind of hate NeoGaf because creating an account there is ridiculous...they never sent me a confirmation email and as many times as I asked I never got shit.

Gotta admit that's kinda funny to hear. Oh well. Life goes on. I've been banned before.

Hmmm from what i've heard of all this denis dyack stuff is that neogaf is one of the worst places on the net, where the owner him self actively pushes people to hate games and be all around fanboys...ect

Denis only fought againest this and was banned for reasons that nearly 99% of the users at neogaf should be banned for, he complained that owners, moderators...ect didn't follow the very rules they had set forth, so i think he had a point. But i knew this long ago i didn't join neogaf when it was first made casue of the caustic atomosphere there which infact is worse then gamestops system wars forums.

P.S: we need a game developer here, I pick the guy that made the crane game (old gamespot thread if you know what i mean)

I don't read NeoGAF but it seems if mods want to trash
game developers that post on their board, that it's not a

Mods had the right to ban him. He called their forum the worst forum, and bashed them even after they were right. If I am not mistaken, GAF has never, in history, banned a dev. That just goes to show how foolish Dyack really was being.

You guys just don't get it.  Dyack intentionally set out to make Too Human an overwhelmingly average experience.  It was designed to evoke an emotional response in the player of "Yeah...this is ok, I guess."  He has achieved that goal, and it not being recognized for the artistic genius that went into it.  The frustration is understandable.

You should have seen the focus groups.

the community on NeoGAF takes itself way to seriously, and in the case of the post from Evillore yesterday it just came off as immature, and pathetic. Many of the user on NeoGAF should stop considering themselves this super influential cabal of forum members. Granted they have people who work in the game industry as registered users and folks from 1up bit at the end of the day its just another forum, and immaturity via anonymity is as rampant there as on any other forum.
