I didn't see another forum for this so I thought I would bring it up, and it's clearly just a suggestion. I have no problem with the ad, let's be clear. Giant Bomb needs to make money. I would personally prefer that it sits below the top stories bar, however. Like right above where it's telling us we can now link achievements to the site. Anybody have thoughts on this?
New Advertisement on Front Page
I don't really mind where it's at right now, just as long as it isn't huge nor takes up the entire page in an annoying flash movie way.
Yeah, I just saw it. I really don't like the ad, but I do love Giant Bomb and thus can tolerate it. I wish this one wasn't dedicated to pre-ordering Tekken 6 in exchange for a new in-game costume because it seems to be counter intuitive to the ideologies that are upheld by the boys. Although, as a capitalist I say that money is money and they deserve it one way or another.
Never noticed that because I don't go on the front page much but I did to check it out and it's like Wha Bam, here I am.
Meh least it's not flash based...
I like it because it has its own unique artstyle that resembles the style of GiantBomb's artwork for the review Mugs, and I think its a nice and neat way of Giantbomb racking in a little bit more cash every once in a while to advance and grow, as it is a fantastic site, and I think that more people should know about it, as it is a very great and vital addition to any gamers life, and brings a lot of information, from gamers to gamers, and I love how all the knowledge of people are put tougether into a "Giant Database powered by Booze, Pancakes, and You!"
Well Played
"@JJOR64 said:Dunno but I'm gonna click" EVERYONE CLICK THE AD!EDIT: They are making Tekken 6 for PSP? Weird..... "How much money do they make per click? "
I actually had no idea it was there. I'm using NoScript, and it doesn't even show up. I don't even get an empty box where it should be. It's as if it never existed.
Meh, its fine where it is. I clicked through a couple times, even varied up where I went (Gamestop, Amazon,) just to show their links went through. I for one, like many of the members here, welcome the ads, as long as it means the community is able to keep on going strong and those guys (and the guys upstairs) are able to keep on doing what they're really good at doing.....drinking capcom under the table!!!!!
Now maybe people will shut up about the ads.
Like Giant Bomb? Stop blocking the ad and click on it every once in a while.
I'm just thrilled that Giant Bomb is makin' that scrilla. At least, making scrilla that we can understand. What the hell is an Amazon Affiliate? Some kind of Space man?
Advertisement revenues, that makes sense to my pitiful earth mind.

I think it's fine like it is. Maybe it could be adjusted but for now it's fine. I'm glad it's a Tekken ad too because if Giant Bomb started advertising crappy games, that would be a problem.
From Google Adsense:
"CPM stands for "cost per 1000 impressions." Advertisers running CPM ads set their desired price per 1000 ads served and pay each time their ad appears.
For publishers, this means you'll earn revenue each time a CPM ad is served to your page. CPM ads compete against pay-per-click (or CPC, cost per click) ads in our ad auction, and we'll display whichever ad is expected to earn more revenue for you."
So, I guess this means you should just turn off Ad-Block Plus and refresh the front page?
"i wonder if that is 1000 clicks on the ad, or 1000 times the page where the ad is is loaded? From Google Adsense:

"That's pretty much one of our major goals with advertising. Obviously, it's an imperfect science, because we're not reviewing games before the ad runs or anything like that. The basic barometer that we've been using is that if we're interested in an upcoming game, chances are at least some of you will be, too. As always, we're reading your feedback pretty closely.
I think its in the perfect area. Really ads don't bother me as long as they aren't over bearing to the site and as long as they don't change the feel of the site or the review process of said game.
" It's not Ign were the whole screen is taken over by fucking flash. "Exactly. Its 1 banner. Not the entire scheme of the fucking homepage trying to implant it into your brain. BUY ME BUY ME BUY ME OR I'LL MURDER YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY!
" If Play.com was included I would've directly pre-ordered it right now from the ad. Like it and its placement, it's all good. "
