All you haters be hatin'... I love the new ILM's.
New "I Love Mondays" Format - Yay Or Nay?
I kind of miss the old format, but at the same time, the variety of the new one is awesome, so a definite "yea" from me.
I enjoy them, I do miss the class Mondays though and surely they're gonna go back to them soon right, ...right?
" It isn't very professional. "That's kind of the point. Before, they were produced and scripted and edited and green-screened and everything. Now it's all "viral", to use a shitty cliche. They're all impromptu and on impulse, which I think has made for really funny videos. The one where everyone's sleeping I thought was a hoot.
" It isn't very professional. "Stick it on the back of the box.
I love it, every single one so far has been completely different, and while not all of them are amazing, they're still better than the old format which was getting a bit tired after the same thing every week.
I voted yay. I do believe it might be a good thing to go back to the origonal format often. That to me would add the most balance, and please those who hate anything in their life messed with. Plus it is a proven approach, while the innovations are hit and miss, even and often in the same showing. But I do like what they are attempting, and showing a creative spirit. It is that kind of spirit that will keep this site fresh.
Fuck yeah! I mean if I could get away with half-assing something at work I totally would.
I hope they just keep doing what they do, and I will be happy no matter the outcome.
Nay, at least not for every week.
There have been some that have been hard to understand, which kinda defeats the purpose of ILM. For example, if you didn't pay attention this week, you easily could have missed something as it scrolled by, or the time they went over things with a caller was hard to hear clearly. I don't really have anything against them besides that, but I think they'd be better served as a something-other-than-weekly thing.
Nay and yay.
I like the idea of presenting the info in different ways. The only problem is that since the videos are so fucking simple, they should be up waaay earlier right? Wrong. Inexplicably they take twice as long to come out. When it finally comes out and it's Ryan with an iPad in a 1 minute video I am ultimately disappointed.

"That's a weak-ass complaint - "if you don't pay attention, you might miss something". Yeah, no shit.
If they go back to the usual format once a month or so, I wouldn't mind, but I'd much rather see what's going on in their crazy brains.
C: Some are hit and some are miss.
The newest one Ryan did with the ipood was annoying. If they put some effort into it like they did with the one where they ran around the office and looked at stickey notes on people then I'm all for it. If it's more annoying stuff like the ipood video then I would rather they just type up an article and post it every Monday. Doubly so if them doing an ILM means less time doing quicklooks or making quicklooks late.
" @B0nd07 said:OK, how about they're also always late and most of them have been completely half-assed, but those are probably also weak complaints to you." Nay, at least not for every week. Look I don't hate them, but their charm is wearing thin since they've been doing them weekly. They might as well just make it an article at this point.
" They are awesome. Only problem is that they upload them too late in the day. Last one went up an hour or so before midnight. "Totally agree, they need to come out WAY earlier in the day.
" @drgrumbles said:lmao that would actually be a great motto." It isn't very professional. "This should be the site motto. "
Here's the other option... They stop doing them altogether. Look. Nay or Yay, they don't have to do ILM, and at the way some people are bitching about them, they're going to go the way of QotW.
This is something they do extra. Just people become so damn demanding about how this or that should work. They don't need to do them period.
They clearly don't want to spend the time making the old style videos anymore so it is either these shotto version or a text post aying what they plan to cover in the week ahead. As long as the info is provided in some way I can't honestly say I care about the format it takes.
"Meh" should also be an option
Was I love mondays ever supposed to be entertaining? Isn't it just the weekly round up of what is to come? Sure sometimes there are one off's like Dave's ILM but they will still happen I guess?

"Although that makes complete sense, that's simply not a valid solution. There are many things people take for granted, and then their parents or anonymous commenters remind them about how they take said things for granted, but after a certain point, after they've made ILM's part of their website experience, they can't just stop making them. As the community, we have a right to constructively criticize, and the GB dudes have a right to take or ignore the advice/criticism, but it's simply not fair to say we're not allowed to bitch and moan, however immaturely or unfairly.
as much as i miss turkey intros, these new mondays are just sooooo much better. they have so much more creativity than past mondays. yay.
The videos are funny, but I wish more of them used the song. And I mean the original song, not the one in this week's with the first bit of the song looping until near the very end.
As long as I get information about whats ahead for the week, they can do it in whatever fomat they like.
As entertaining as I Love Mondays has been recently, ultimately I tune in for the info.
So don't really care if it's Ryan in front of a green screen or dicking around with an ipad.
