Nickelodeon is biased towards Nintendo

The choices for best video game for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards are all Nintendo games. The nominees are Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, and Wii Sports Resort.  
 
WTF?! Where is the Uncharted 2 or Batman? Come on! And didn't Mario Kart come out in 2008? They should give other games a chance at winning this most prestigious award.

Dude, Arkham Asylum and Uncharted 2 only have Teen ratings, but those are not games that are going to be promoted on Nickelodeon! I'm not surprised Nintendo got all the awards. I imagine it would be inappropriate to show footage of Nathan Drake shooting people on a show 8 year old boys and girls might watch.

Well this is probably geared towards kids 5 - 12, you know kids that parents don't want to spend the money on a Xbox 360 or a PS3....  My cousin is one of these parents lol

Uncharted 2 was pretty Violent and Vulgur for a T rated game.

Children play mature games for mature gamers, then drop the n bomb in multiplayer. I agree with the OP, clearly Modern Warfare 2 is the best mainstream children's game of the year.

Its probably because they don't want to show a game with shooting in it to a bunch of kids. Are you really surprised?

 
I did laugh when i saw Mario Kart Wii on there though, seeing as it was released last year.

Well, they can't be nominating games that are over the rating E10+. A lot of kids watching this show probably couldn't get those games at their age.
 
But you do have a good argument that Nickelodeon is biased towards Nintendo. They've had Nintendo ads all around the site, so you could guess that Nintendo was involved.
 
But come on, Mario Kart Wii? That came out in 2008! This is 2010! You'd think they could get more recent good games than that!

There were a lot of terrible NES games. For every Super Mario Bros, I'm sure you owned and enjoyed an "Angry Video Game Nerd" Caliber title. I personally had plenty of terrible N64 and Gamecube games, and the only games my brother (age 10) plays are Modern Warfare 2 (usually 1v1 splitscreen with a friend) and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (which he has beaten like 5 times). "

What good kid's game came out for the PS3 or 360in 09? They ported Littlebig Planet to the PSP. Modnation Racers is next year. Sonic Racing? That'll show up next year probably. But again, investing any thought into this at all just seems kind of sad.

I just find it sad, that within 2 years, I went from a Nintendo fanboy to a neutral entity. Their decline is just awful. N64 was the last great console they made, and the GCN redeemed itself after my PS2 spontaneously combusted. But this generation...ugh.

I agree OP. WHY ISNT GOD OF WAR III ON THERE!?!?!? WHERES  Dante's Inferno?! Those were great games that im sure nick would want to be on their award show.

aw come on if they dont want to show shooting to kids then just put god of war 3 up there and no more heros 2.

Given the remainder of the choices, those aren't too bad at all.  What's bad is that people are still trying to decide on last year's best moments. We're nearly half-way through 2010, might as well just do this year's GotY.

The reason is that all the smart gamers who watched Nickelodeon, our all grown up and playing the 360 and PS3...in other words, us!
