NO SPIDEY 4

Sam rami has left the project as the director and sony has decided to reboot the franchise. tobey maguire is also not returning. i was pretty shocked when i heard this. they are planning on starting peter parker back in high school.  
PS: if anyone else has posted this plz dont be a dick and say that it is already there.

Spiderman 1 & 2 weren't bad.  Spiderman 3 was just painful to watch.  Still.  No Sam Raimi can only be a good thing.  This is the same guy who produced Legend of the Seeker.  If you've seen it you know why.

They need to get Christian Bale all over this. 

Maybe this should be in off topic?  Bah, whatever. 
This can only mean bad things for Spiderman. Admittedly Spiderman 3 was a train wreck, but I'm sure that whatever comes out of this will be far worse than whatever Sam Rami could have made.
 
I wonder what this will mean for the World of Warcraft movie that he is supposed to be directing?

Hollywood should give it up.  Nothing is ever going to beat Indian Spiderman...um, girl.  Except maybe Japanese Spiderman!

Okay I really really like Sam Raimi. I agree Spiderman 3 was really bad, but Drag Me to Hell, the Evil Dead series? They were all brilliant. And the first two Spidermans were pretty good. 
 
I do think that if they are gonna switch directors and apparently cast a reboot is the only way to go.
 
Also maybe I missed it but where did you get this info, I can't find any news stories about it.

Meh, the only reason I enjoy watching spiderman films is to see how the different characters are designed

Marvel's new multimedia branch that has been shepherding the recent slew of films (Iron Man, Incredible Hulk etc) and are doing a great job of producing pretty darn good film adaptations of their properties, and making them all part of the same timeline.  This is the best thing that could happen to Spider-Man the film franchise, because not only did it get seriously messy and off-track, but it wouldn't jive well with what they're setting up (Avengers stuff etc). 
 
This news seriously made my day, and I am actually excited to see where the Spidey films go from here, with a better director/screenwriter, and cast involved.

Nolan North should be Spider-man.  Duh.

The 3rd film was mediocre but the first 2 were good. I was looking forward to the 4th one but I don't think i'll have sleepless nights missing.
