Why I can't post text and a poll at the same time, I have no idea.

Anyway, of this random list of old Nintendo properties, which would you like to see get the Uprising treatment? Or maybe be a badass, pick Other, and then suggest something I failed to list here.

EarthBound. No, not really, because I'm not too familiar with the series.

Ice Climbers, I guess, just because it'd be interesting to see a modern take on that game.

Ice Climbers!

Mach Rider, I'd love to see a modern version, especially if they aren't doing anything with F-zero.

(and hurry up with the new Pikmin!)

I think I've joked about a sequel to Devil World before, but really only because we never got a chance to play it in North America. I don't know a whole lot about that game.

Grrr your poll is not sorted alphabetically!

But fuck yeah Star Tropics! I don't even know what kind of game it would be. Maybe a mashup of BG&E; and Uncharted?

L. None.

I want to see a new version of Donkey Kong (the original) done in a Namco Generations style.

I list my poll answers arbitrarily by the order in which the options come to mind!

But man, I would love to see a new StarTropics. A mix of BG&E and Uncharted sounds like a good combination for it.

I'm going with StarTropics, but I am really surprised Nintendo didn't revive Duck Hunt during the Wii era. That seems like an easy way to make money.

I want the gritty m rated version of duck hunt

Dude! A Famicom Tantei Club game for a US audience could be fantastic, if done right. I really enjoyed te second FTC game (only one that's been fan teanslated).

Earthbound... for very obvious reasons.

#17 Posted by MikkaQ (10294 posts) -

A long time ago, someone on the internet made a kinda crazy in-depth flash version of Balloon FIght, and it really made me want to see another one of those.

#18 Posted by Gamer_152 (14078 posts) -

There's nothing I'd particularly like to see them go for, but out of that list I guess Ice Climbers would probably be the most interesting venture.

Fire Emblem :P.

#20 Posted by Hailinel (24848 posts) -

@Video_Game_King: Doesn't count. They never stopped making those. :P

#21 Posted by Video_Game_King (36272 posts) -

@Hailinel:

But they did stop localizing them :P. However, as long as you're listing off obscure Nintendo franchises, I might as well one-up you with some Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru.

New Uniracers anyone?

You have bombs and can eat the polar bears! Or y'know they could just fix the controls.

But seriously, a new StarTropics, gimme! Just so long as that meh sequel is forgotten.

It's got a lot of neat things it could build on; tropical environments, Jojo weapons with a bunch of minor ones like baseball bats and spike shoes, ray guns, dungeons, aliens, and a rideable, miniature submarine with a robot inside. I say put Retro on it immediately.

747, nevar forget!

Any particular reason F-zero isn't on this list. I personally have no nostalgia for it but it does seem like and obvious miss.

Rockstar. Not Nintendo.

The correct answer is K: Pro Wrestling.

Thread closed.

They made F-Zero games as recently as the GameCube era.

@BlaineBlaine: Wow, you're right. I always thought Nintendo made that game.

Donkey Kong Championship Edition: Dodge ONE THOUSAND BARRELS AAARRRRRGGH!!!!

But seriously I would like to see them bring back that Super Mario Bros. game on the NES. It would be cool to see a modern take on that.

A new Super Mario Bros.? Naaah, what would they do, give Mario a mushroom that makes him fill half the screen or something?

:P

Duck Hunt. Hunting from Red Dead.

#32 Posted by AhmadMetallic (18955 posts) -

Why don't you play the current game and enjoy it before you anticipate the next Nintendo revival?

#33 Posted by crusader8463 (14422 posts) -

Brace yourself for this radical and crazy idea, but what if, stay with me here, what if they made something NEW instead of milking their old franchises? I KNOW! I know! It's crazy.

@kurtbro900 said:

@BlaineBlaine: I thought it was Rockstar and Nintendo together (admittedly just got that from the Wikipedia page).

Now I have to check wikipedia...

The fact that Pixar sued DMA, not Nintendo says a lot as far as I'm concerned.

Copyright office says Nintendo holds copyright, but developed by DMA. Who knows who the property belongs to right now.

For this argument, I can see who's franchise it is going either way. That would let Cruisn' be fair game as well.

I am. I'm enjoying Kid Icarus immensely, in fact. But that doesn't mean that this isn't a fun subject of discussion.

Making a game in a franchise for the first time in over twenty years is milking?

#36 Posted by Moncole (636 posts) -

Star Tropic because it's a great game. I would also love to see how Nintendo will make a Ice Climbers game

#37 Posted by Landon (4143 posts) -

I wish they'd make something new instead.

#38 Posted by david3cm (635 posts) -

They should make new ip's instead of making sequels, but for the sake of this thread I would have to say duck hunt since it is the only game on that list I have actually played, and I would be interested in seeing how they would make that game today. Plus I could put my zapper to use.

#39 Posted by captain_clayman (3321 posts) -

i could go for a new balloon fight type thing, but star tropics would be cool.

#40 Posted by Artikay (112 posts) -

i dont remember than name of the game, but I think it was made by Nintendo... You had to drive a dump truck and drift into buildings to knock them down so that a truck with a nuke on it could get to a safe zone and detonate. I played the hell out of that game but cant remember the name for the life of me. Wish it was on virtual console. Also: Waverace. I loved Waverace.

The game you're thinking of is Blast Corps. It was developed by Rare for Nintendo, but I'm not sure who has the copyright to it at this point.

#42 Posted by Marz (5653 posts) -

I want some ultra hardcore realistic simulation Duck Hunt.

#43 Posted by Brunchies (2484 posts) -

Star fox, the new one doesn't count. I want a completely new original one with no ground combat, just space shooting. I don't care what platform its on, its been almost 15 years since we got a strictly new Star Fox space shooter, its time.

I voted for StarTropics because it was at least weird and memorable, but I honestly think yours is the right answer.

I mean, you could revive any of the properties in this poll, but you might as well just make up a new series. These series all have just about zero brand recognition, and the actual gameplay in all of them is so dated that you'd have to reinvent the game entirely anyways.

#45 Posted by LordAndrew (14426 posts) -
Wait, I just remembered. Isn't X-Scape on DSiWare a sequel to X? So we already got that one.

No, but all Nintendo does is rely on nostalgia to remake a bunch of their old games. Would be nice to see them try to make something new rather then just dust off some old series and make that their new thing to milk into the ground for a few years. I'm sure they have a ton of creative people over there, and I would just like to see them come up with something from the ground up rather then just make more of what they already have.

I've been saying this for a while. Nintendo should try their hands at survival horror...

I'm kidding. Sort of. Anyway, I'd like to see Nintendo make a full-blown RPG. Not Zelda. An RPG.
