Poll Now that we know the price of the One, guess the cost of the PS4 (637 votes)
Bear in mind that the Xbox One will include the Kinect ($499 / £429) and the PS4 probably wont include the Eye camera.
Thanks mracoon for letting me repost this!

if sony is really reactionary as they claim they are, then they will announce a lower price, im betting 400 bucks, or they will do 500 bucks but include games with that price.
only a few hours till we see their conference, the cynical journalists will love it regardless due to the likely focus on indie games, but a bunch of them are hyping up an "incredible exclusive" so we'ill see.

I hope its something besides versus 13 because thats been almost common knowledge for like a month now.

im putting bets thats its the fully fleshed out version of "deep down" (aka dragons dogma 2).
but heck versus 13 has been in the works for like 7 years at this point and there is gameplay around of versus 13 that people really liked, so that could be the big titanfall level exclusive.
I can't see it being anything but $450 or $500, but I'm disappointed not to see Five Hundred And Ninety Nine US Dollars as a poll option.
@benny: Ye
man, i'd be pissed right now if i was british. 668 usd, yikes.
Yup, I'm from the UK and games here are £40, if you imagine a PS4 is the same price as 10.75 new games at retail (£430), the american price would be $640. Insanity.
Yes, I am british and to be honest this has turned from a 'day one sale', into a 'wait for a price drop/hardware revision'. $499 dollars is about £320 pounds at todays exchange rate.
This looks as if the UK/Europe will be subsidising sales in the US.
well they launched the vita at a loss, so its not uncommon for them to be ballsy.
also i believe they said they will be making a profit on every ps4 machine sold, (wish i could find the article that said so)

Sony also said they would let MS go first next gen, saying you want a profit for every console could be a bait and switch in order to make MS go higher. Anyway, Sony might not even say anything about the price.

Well either way when I'm spending $500 then $50 isn't making a huge difference, to me anyway. $450 or $500 - it's still a decent chunk of money.
Well everyone is saying it has more powerful hardware so I assume it must be more expensive hardware.

No, they said they wouldn't be taking a huge loss on each unit, like they did on on the PS3, not that they wouldn't take any loss at all. And the PS4 hardware isn't necessarily more expensive. The eye is likely a fair bit cheaper than Kinect, and the embedded SRAM is expensive also, especially if the rumors that they're having yield issues are true and they're having to throw away a lot of the completed chips.
$400 was the speculated price based off the hardware. Plus if they can maintain the momentum coming out of E3 that they've picked up off of MS's recent bad press going into it and $100 cheaper they will dominate this holiday.
@benny: PS Eye was confirmed in the box on the reveal day.
$469.99 is my guess.
I'm gonna say $500, that GDDR5 will not come cheap but they won't make the same mistake with the PS4 as they did with the PS3.
