Old Bombcasts Not Working?

I've been catching up on all the bombcasts that I never originally listend to. I started with the Arrow Pointing Down stuff and had reached April '09, but now they're not working anymore. I finished one, clicked the next one, it didn't work, tried another and now they all don't work. I tried them on the RSS, on the site itself, and even in itunes and they don't work anywhere. I really hope they didn't de-archive all the old episodes. Anyone know what's up with this?

i am having this problem too i've tried downloading old bombcasts and i've tried listing to them from the bombcast page but they just wont start

The more recent ones seem to work, but none of the older ones do. I know they are in the process of redesigning the site, so maybe this is a side effect of that? I just hope they aren't gone forever.

Ive recently also been going through old ones and havent had a problem downloading and listening through iTunes.

Do you have them all downloaded? If so, all of 2009 would be awesome.

In iTunes they all seem to work. They don't have the Arrow Pointing Down ones listed though.

Are you sure that doesn't work?

@geirr: When I try to download the one I'm on (giant bombcast capcom edition from 4/9/09), I get the "!" which indicates you are trying to play a file that doesn't exist. When I click the "!", it says: "There was a problem trying to download Giant Bombcast Capcom Edition. Authorization is needed to access 'http://media.giantbomb.com/podcast/giantbombcast-capcom.mp3'"

The same error occurs on every episode up to 8-2-11, after which they all work fine.

Weird. They seem to work on the itunes website but not in the itunes program,

I'm having the same error in the iTunes program itself as well.

I just downloaded it and I'm playing it in iTunes 11.x

edit: I couldn't stream it directly though, I had to click the little "free" button on the right-hand side.

I can confirm they were working at least 2 hours ago.

If this is a permanent problem I am walking the fuck OUT.

This can't be intentional, the RSS feed must always contain all the episodes and they should all be available.

The Hotspot did this before, so we created a torrent and uploaded them all to box.com. http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/off-topic/31/huh-the-hotspot-is-dead/544807/

Just tried downloading old bombcast episodes through Itunes and I'm getting error msg's. Tells me I need authorization to access it. I hope it's only a temporary problem. Haven't tried doing it through the site.

EDIT: Yeah. Even trying to download them through the site gives you an error msg. Hopefully they'll fix it.

Pointed here from another thread, seems a bit selective, I know that there are a few (first four of 09) episodes that this is the case with, however, the 02-10-2009 episode is still up.

Getting errors through iTunes, Downcast and an XML error when trying to directly download from the site.

I have no idea what is going on but now even the newest bombcast is not downloading or starting. it is not working trough iTunes either.

edit: yes! the new one just downloaded but the old ones are still messed up.

Tried this on chrome & firefox with no success on the bombcast, at least while itunes is up i can listen to the gamespot gameplay podcast (btw this is pretty much impossible to find easily on the gamespot site along with the gamespot uk podcast, they really need to learn from Dave & the rest of the website engineers of GB to update gamespot to make these as easy to get to as the bombcast) while top men are working on fixing this on the site.

All the file permissions on those MP3s have been trashed and set to "owner" for some reason, which is causing them to be inaccessible. Trying to fix it now.

OK, it should be fixed now.

Just tried playing a handful of old ones. They all work fine now.
