When you look back what was a game that you realize now that you had a rediculous amount of fun playing, that might have got lost in the mix?

For me is BF:Bad Company.  After seeing all the "lists" of 2008 i realize how much enjoyment i got out of that game.

I loved Burnout Paradise. I'll probably play it about just as much this year as I did last year.

I spent the majority of 2008 playing Skate on my 360. I didn't get a 360 until 2008 anyways.

I purchased three games in '08.  GTA IV, Gears of War 2, and Fallout 3.

I regret not picking up Burnout, Left 4 Dead, a slew of others.  However, of the few I purchased, Fallout easily tops my cake.

I agree. Of the games I played that were actually released in 2008, Fallout 3 is one of my favorites as well.

far cry 2 was a huge disapointment, and i blame Brad for a very misleading review.

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, I mainly play multiplayer games, the most I had spent on a single player game is 28 hours (GTA4) but I've spent 33+ on the single player of this game and still have a lot of Jiggies to collect

I just finished up Bully for 360, and that game is seriously awesome.  I had so much fun I could hardly stop playing it.  I got all of the achievements but that last mother fucker for 100% complete.  I got to 98.5% and then just had to give up because I couldn't find anything I hadn't done on the online lists except for more errands, which weren't showing up for me.

Also Banjo Nuts and Bolts was highly overlooked IMO.  I playing through that right now, and it's a seriously great game.  I bought it back when it came out and played an hour or so of it and it left a very meh taste in my mouth.  I decided to pick it back up because my son was bugging me to, and as soon as I got the helecopter parts the game just clicked with me.  Now I'm having a hard time putting that one down too.  That first time I built a vehicle that worked a lot better than any of the blueprints on a challenge was really eye opening.  I think the game suffers from being pretty complicated for that first couple hours, but once you get it all...it's great.

In fact, I think many rare games suffer in sales and reviews from being too complicated at first.  I tried pretty hard to get into Viva Pinata, but that game just had too many menus, too much to do, and it never really felt like the things I was doing had the desired result.  Banjo is complicated in that way, but when you experiment with your vehicle, you very often get the desired result, which makes the game feel immensly rewarding when you succeed.

Another game that I had a lot of fun with which is more obvious was LBP.  When I think back to the first level I made in LBP, it was a lot of fun in retrospect just creating and refining that level.  I enjoyed each pass, and each play through until I felt it was pretty solid.

For me it was Pixel Junk's Eden. I don't even like it that much, but I played it a lot.
