Well I just bought Borderlands and it doesn't run on my PC.
 My pc
Processor: AMD Athlon 7750 Dual Core 2.5ghz
RAM: 4GB
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4350

I thought I was going to be able to pull of med settings on my resolution of 1920x1080 but no I can't even get a playable game with every thing on low. If I upgraded my GPU would it be more playable. BTW I own a slim line pc so I can't up too big of a card in it.

I have. It makes the game look like a ps1 title.

Yeah, graphics card is the weak link. One (expensive and time-consuming) option would be to get a larger case, then a decent GPU. Beyond that, there are few options for better, low-profile cards. I'd suggest checking Newegg for the best low profile card you can get on a budget.

There's a Geforce 9600 for a relatively low price.

it's just the GPU you need a new case or being a PC gamer is just a suicide note for you.

Wouldn't a GeForce 9000 series fit in a slim line case? I may be wrong.

What's the maximum size card your case could take?

@Slippy: "low profile" or "half height" is typically the specification for cases like this - compatible hardware will be called "low profile" or "half height" and the PCB will be slightly more than half the width of a normal card, and typically come with a full size and low profile mounting bracket.

You won't find any card that won't fit depth-wise (like the trouble some people have been with the HD 5970) if it's low profile.

EDIT: To actually contribute, your GPU is definitely your weak point (especially for a monitor of that resolution).

The best card I could find that is still low profile is this 9800 GT

There are GT 220 and GT 210 cards but those are actually not as good as the 9800 GT. At your resolution you may still have a little difficulty since the G92 is a 256-bit bus (which causes a performance plateau of sorts), but it's better than the 128-bit bus offered by some of the other low-profile cards.
