penny arcade is now......bogey...golf????

the people here who check up on penny arcade regular would have noticed that the last two comics (here and here)  have been under the name bogey golf  with a accompanying  blog post on the main page  talking about the site changing to bogey golf . is this a actual serious change  and if it is what does this meen for penny arcade   or the penny arcade adventures games?

its just a new series, penny arcade is the company.

I'm sure it's a spin-off. They don't seem like the type that even enjoy golfing. If anything, they should make one with table tennis.

This is a joke. They talked about this exact thing (in a very jokey fashion) on a podcast months ago, and it looks like they finally decided to do something with it. It's not replacing Penny Arcade at all, it's just a few comics.

Seriously, this is about as real as when they claimed to have bought the exclusive right to make video game comics. They do this shit all the time.

Yeah, they're just having a laugh. I'm sure reactions like these are half the reason they're doing it. We're amusing THEM, for a change.

They should move on to political cartoons after this. Or maybe a more direct Family Circus parody or something... still, it's a welcome change, I bet they're having fun making them.

Bogey Golf is a long-running PA inside joke, you can hear them muse about it on one of their podcasts. It's just a mini-run inside their regular comic. Now, they might have been insane enough to actually do the thirty they promised, but I doubt it. They're just jerking you along, and using it as an opportunity to take a bit of a break from the normal PA stuff.

It seems pretty clear just by reading the accompanying news that it's a joke. Don't worry about Penny Arcade. It's not going anywhere.
