I just posted this to the Skyrim boards but I realized it could extend beyond Skyrim, so forgive the redundancy.

Before starting a new character in a game like Skyrim, does anybody kill off their old character in a badass way before starting a new one? You spend hours and hours role playing as a character and building a story with them. Rather than abruptly switching to a new character and leaving the old one hanging, how many people have decided to end their old character's story by dying in a crazy or heroic way and then never return to that save file again? I recently thought about doing this but it might look cooler in my head than it would turn out to be. Has anyone done this, or can anyone think of a good way to permanently kill off a character in Skyrim? (or any similar game)

Cheers

I always assume my previous characters die of depression.

I let them live out the lives they've always wanted. Right now, Dickpunch Cockblaster is out there gainfully employed as a urologist.

In big RPGs like skyrim i can't have more than one character or else i'll keep switching between them and then spending ten minutes "did i do that dungeon on this guy or the other guy? god dammit". So i always just delete my old characters. Idon't like have them commit suicide in-game before deleting them or anything.

I can never bare myself to make a new character.

I pour too much work into the first one and do things i'd rather not repeat again.
