#2 Posted by TwoOneFive (9459 posts) -

not me. i like saying, are  you game, like are you down. and i wanna get my game on lol

#3 Posted by Dissolve (375 posts) -

Well, you're not using as a verb.

#4 Posted by lordofultima (6267 posts) -

I don't have a preference, I just don't usually say "gamer."

#5 Posted by atejas (3057 posts) -

so....you're a game player, not a gamer?
naah, whatever uses fewer syllables

#6 Posted by Dissolve (375 posts) -

*shudders*

I hate the term "gamer"
#7 Posted by Shawn (3825 posts) -

I agree, I don't like the phrase " I game"

makes me feel like a numskull.

#8 Posted by suneku (2997 posts) -

I say it here and there... not often though since it does sound kind of weird when I use it too much

#9 Posted by MattyFTM (14423 posts) -

I don't mind. Language evolves.

Why? I'm just curious why you dislike it so much. I like to use the word "gamer."

I don't like activity-specific labels if said activity is not a profession.

#14 Posted by brukaoru (5079 posts) -

Oh, I see. I just classify those who play games professionally as "pro gamers." To each their own!

#15 Posted by Dan (143 posts) -

It's in the dictionary. I hate it when people use internet slang and whatever but 'to game' is sanctioned English language.

#16 Posted by Dissolve (375 posts) -

DAMN YOU MERRIAM-WEBSTER

#17 Posted by TheGTAvaccine (2884 posts) -

Yeah, I hate that, but I also hate the term "video games". :S

#18 Posted by Dissolve (375 posts) -

Let's call it interactive media.

I'm an interactive mediaist.

Agreed.
It just sounds a little weird.
#20 Posted by Clean (2356 posts) -

it sounds weird I just say play yo you wanna play I mean who says game You wanna game stfu

#21 Posted by Karmum (11519 posts) -

I don't say "I game." I say "I play games."

I don't like the term gamer, or professional gamer, either. Professional? Hardly.

#22 Posted by HoldSteady828 (165 posts) -

i like to game the system, but i play games.

#23 Posted by Giantkitty (808 posts) -

I use it as an adverb, preposition, conjunction, and an interjection just to throw people off

#24 Posted by FengShuiGod (1492 posts) -

I personally don't give a shit.

#25 Posted by Sentry (4197 posts) -

"I game"

Hahaha! Wtf, thats like someone saying "I internet" XD

Yeah, that's silly. I'm a gamer, or I play games, is different. But some shitty add that says "DO YOU GAME!?", no.

I say that when I want to be ironic.
#27 Posted by Sentry (4197 posts) -

Lol, "YOU GAME BROTHA!!??"

I totally digg that. I'm gonna use that from know on... muahhaha.

#28 Posted by neoepoch (1295 posts) -

I also agree with you Dissolve. I hate game as a verb, gamer, hardcore, and casual. I don't really know why (or it is too late for me to verbalize it), but I really hate those terms.

#29 Posted by beavis (7 posts) -

I don't use: gaming, gamer, game (verb), hardcore (in reference to players), noob or lol (actually said in conversation) - but I don't mind of other people do... I just can't do it myself.

#30 Posted by Lombax (105 posts) -

Game recognize Game, and right now you aint looking to familiar.

#31 Posted by efrucht (639 posts) -

I'll use the phrase alot, it takes to long to say games, and most people associates games with video games.
If I say, lets go play some games, people assume video games, not board games, anyway..

I'm with you. "Game" as a verb sounds like a really lame attempt to sound cool.
#33 Posted by Sentry (4197 posts) -

I Play Games > I Game > I Do Games

'Nuff said.

#34 Posted by Dissolve (375 posts) -

I like that.

From now on, I Do Games.

#37 Posted by bread_or_decide (136 posts) -

It's game time!

#38 Posted by crunchUK (5963 posts) -
olol why? "gaming"
#39 Posted by Bulldog19892 (1795 posts) -

I hate it too dude. I also hate the word 'text' as a verb. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna go text my friend and game a little."

#40 Posted by RHCPfan24 (8609 posts) -

I'm with you Dissolve. When I hear a non-videogame person say that, I usually cringe.  I cringe when a "gamer" says it too.

#41 Posted by Player1 (3891 posts) -

I've used it as a verb before. But I dont do it regularly. I do call myself a gamer though

#42 Posted by TheGreatGuero (9130 posts) -

Haha, I feel you, dude. I think it's pretty lame, along with a lot of other words people that play games say. It makes me feel kind of ashamed to go to places like Gamestop, so I totally avoid it if possible.

#43 Posted by Suicrat (3764 posts) -

Yeah, 'gaming' is for slot machines, poker, and roulette.

#44 Posted by pause422 (6209 posts) -

I'm not into it either. And 'gamer' is the dumbest thing to ever be said since the PR people, who don't even play games decided to label us as such, its not something we started, its a label and almost feels insulting to me. People don't go around saying "basketballer" "footballer" "game player" is what I prefer,or someone 'who plays games'

#45 Posted by Vaxadrin (2297 posts) -

What games do you game?

I dont really care, and nobody should care. It's a pointless thing to care about.

#48 Posted by Homer (1372 posts) -

What?!??! It IS a verb tho!
