Pick a game: The Strategy genre.

Now you only have x amount of dollars (this amount could vary heavily depending on the region you live in), and you have to pick two games from the Strategy genre, what would they be?

Now for me, that would be a difficult choice, I mean, there are alot of great games out there, picking said game would be a tough choice to make, I guess it would have to boil down to two of three games, making the decision of the two would be up to what I felt like playing at the time.

1. Sins of a Solar Empire
2. Dawn of War II
3. Galactic Civilizations II

Which two I am to pick will be a tough one...

If you are really into 4X strategy game get Sins, but i personally recommend Dawn of War 2 for the single player.
But i thought you already had DoW2?

I think Gal Civ II will last the longest if you're hardcore with the genre, even though it doesn't have multi player. Try demos for all.

I dont play much of this genre. I would get Dawn of War II from the three you mentioned.

Age of Empires II: The conquerors and Starcraft I look like the best ideas in my opinion. I still have a great time with my friends playing age of empires with hamachi trough the internet.

Dunno, about GalCiv, SoSE is supposed to be great, DoW 2 is kind of meh but has potential(and a co-op campaign)....
Get Supreme Commander or Company of Heroes. Or even the original DoW. Or, of course, Starcraft.

You could also wait for Demigod, but it's not strictly an RTS.

Starcraft Battle Chest

Most of the strategy games I've enjoyed I've already beaten.  I have no interest to play another Empire game or another Dune clone.

I'd still play Myth if it still had a community.  Best real time strategy ever IMO.

As far as modern games, Disgaea 3 on PS3 and Culdcept Saga on 360 are probably my favs.

Sins is a really well done 4x game, so if your into that i'd recommend it .
