Price You Would Be Willing To Pay For A New Console

Sorry for those not in the US. You'll have to do some converting on your own because I am just far too lazy to do it myself.

EDIT: I said $400. I think I could convince myself to put out that much money and still get a few games near launch. If it is over $400 I might have a harder time convincing myself.

Depends on what features it has and what hot exclusives it gets

I'll go 300, maybe $350, but I'm not doing $400 or $600 again... at that point, I'll just buy my better and more powerful graphics card for my PC and get even better graphics. 

I said 300, not because i expect them to be at that price at launch but because i will wait to purchase a console till it is at that price point.

$350. And if it is higher than that, I'll simply play all of the games in my current gen backlog until the price drops.

I said $500. That's an expensive piece of technology, for sure. But since I'll be using my PS4 or whatever it may be nearly every day for a four or five year period, I don't think it's unreasonable.

I'll probably hold off on buying a new console if it is over 300 bucks. It also depends on if I want it badly.

I'd pay up to $900 as long as it was bundled with a game.

400$ for me but I will probably wait close to one year before I get it, I want to wait for games to come out and for the console manufacturers to put out their 2.0 hardware.

If we're talking Wii U, $300.

For the next PlayStation I would pay up to $500 depending on how good the launch line-up is. (So, if the launch line-up is just kind of middling, I would probably only pay like 400 bucks to get one.)

I got a feeling I'm going to spend the first year or two of the next generation going back and playing games I've missed or replaying certain titles from this generation, like previous cycles. That is unless I get a better job after earning my Master's by next year (pfft...).

That's how much I'm willing to pay not how much I think it'll release at. I'm more than likely going to wait until there's a must have game that I can't get on the PC. Until then, I'm just going to stick to PC

Allow me to tell you about a little piece of hardware called the Nintendo Wii U! It has the Batman and the Assassin's Creed!

Yeahhh, I figure that since the Durango and PS4 will likely be super-expensive by college student standards, I'll have to wait a while for the price to go down, skip more meals, or resort to PC gaming.

$550 for me. I think that is what my PS3 cost.

I won't buy a new console at launch, so €200 at most. And possibly after the first hardware revision.

$300. Higher then that and I'd rather just upgrade my PC.

12$ minus 300$ plus 10% Illinois tax minus my soul plus a waffle.

$350 would be my ideal stopping point. Anything exceeding $400 is absurd to me.

What was the ps3's release price? I can't recall. I feel like the 360 was at $300 without a hard drive, correct?

It's funny how revisions are a given now, we've all been well trained.

I would go up to £300 which closest option their is $500 (that includes Tax btw). Consoles usually cost more here (as gaming costs are generally slightly inflated here and I think our basic Tax is higher) so that would probably be closer to $450 in the US.

To put that into perspective, I just looked up the price of the PS3 and the 360's original price in the UK. The basic price for the 360 was £209.99 ($334.64) and the 'Premium' version was £279.99 ($446.19) and the PS3 had a starting RRP of £425.00 ($676.77). And then the Wii was £179 ($350).
