Definitely Sands of Time, that game is incredible, it had such an awesome feel to it.  The new POP is next for me.

I want to get the new one.
And while I haven't played any of them yet, the 360/ps3 revamp is a platformer, which I typically prefer.  I can't say I know enough to vote though.

If you're interested in it because it's a platformer, I'd definitely say get Sands of Time over the new one, that game is the epitome of unbelievable platforming.  The new one kind of did a lot of it for you, a lot of you pushing one button and watching an animation.  It was still fun in its own way, but Sands of Time is a much better platformer, and a much better game.

The new one. Although I played Sands of Time, I don't have much of an opinion or rating on it. If I played it again, I'm sure it'd rank much higher, but as it is...

I like the new one the most.

Unlike most other people, I did not enjoy Sands of Time-I didn't finish it (got about 70% through it though, and I also beat Two Thrones). I sorta got bored with the "acrobatic/platformer segment, combat segment" order it had going to it. Especially since I thought the combat was really dull (you could kill a fair amount of enemies just by flipping over them and stabbing if I remember, up until you fought the ones with spears). I much prefer Two Thrones/Rival Swords to it-stealth instant kills and cool setpieces/puzzles made it feel better to me.

While I haven't finished the new one, I like it the most so far. It looks really damn good, I find the characters/story good enough (interactions between the Prince and Elika are very funny to me. For some reason), I like the connected world and I love boss combat.

I like the new one for different reasons then the old ones. My favorite from last generation would be Warrior Within, with Two Thrones and Sands of Time being tied for second.

It's a tough choice between Sands of Time and Warrior Within, but I definitely have to go with the later just because it was more fun.

the second one was my favourite. I admit the hard rockiness and all that was stupid, but the combat system was perfect, the graphics were AWEsome, the story wasn't so bad...AND I KILLED THE  MOTHER FUCKIN DAHAKA, BITCH!

Sands of Time hands down. But like LiquidPrince says I liked the new one for different reasons to that series so its harder to compare. Also there is a lack of the older stuff. Wouldnt change my vote though.

Sands of Time wins because it was so fresh when it came out, and the atmosphere and gameplay went so well together. Warrior Within maintained the excellent gameplay but turned the setting into a teen angst nightmare (although the Dahaka concept and level design/the island were cool), and added horrible faux-metal cheese for a soundtrack. Haven't really played Two Thrones, but I guess it takes the best elements of the previous ones and puts them in the blender.

The newest iteration's gameplay is a bit dumbed-down compared to the last-gen trilogy, but the artstyle and feel of the world are just sparkling good, so that comes in as a close second for me.

@gingertastic_10:

Warrior within was much more mature than Sands of time and the music profoundly suited the game . " I stand alone" was merely the battle soundtrack and cutscenes were filled with appealing and varied musics . I also loved the complexity of combat in Warrior within and the story was best of all in the series .

  1. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
  2. Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones
  3. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  4. Prince of Persia: Untitled
I just loved the combat from Warrior Within, though the story could've been a bit more developed in my opinion.

The Two Thrones was a pretty good game overall and a nice ending to the series.

I played the Sands of Time for a while before my saved game became corrupt and I couldn't be bothered to get through the same amount of game again, it is one of the best platforming games out there.

I'm still finishing the new one, but it's pretty good so far.. if a tad repetitive.

Sands of Time. The series has just kept going downhill from there with the latest definitely being one of the worst games i've played on my Xbox 360 to date.

I couldn't stand it on PC actually. Perhaps I'll try it again now that I have a 360 controller to use with it, but it's still a great turn off that the mouse-friendly third person style of Sands of Time was overhauled so much... The platforming felt weird, and the combat was just completely unsuitable, and imo worse off. Why did they feel the need to change the Sands of Time mechanics so much? I thought that game combined platforming and combat as good as it can get. Your mouseclicks connected with your moves and your moves connected with the enemies very fluidly... Oh well.

I prefered Two Thrones becos I'm a sucker for stories of redemption in video games, and that it managed to wrap the trilogy up really well.

Having said that, the new one is a close second.

the new POP is the worst. the combat is lame, the platforming doesn't feel satisfying and the game is fucking boring. I forced myself to play it again to get all the trophies but couldn't do it and finally gave up.

I think the best POP is no doubt the Sands of Time.

Even though the combat was terrible, Sands of Time is the best.  For the time it came out it was such a different experience and a ton of fun to play.  There were so many moments where you thought "There's no way I can get up there" and after minutes of shimmying, climbing, and jumping from column to column you somehow had.  It made the game very satisfying.   I loved the tone and the graphics, which had a soft and exotic feel to them.  Ubisoft absolutely ruined the series with 2 and 3 was no better.  Whoever decided to take that series in the direction it was taken deserves to be shot.

I appreciated what the new game did, but it's simply not as good.

Sands of Time will always have a special place in my heart and is among my favorite games of all time.
That being said, something about the art style, story and characterization in the new one just really did it for me.  I really really enjoyed it and it has now become my favorite in the series.  Currently replaying it to whore for achievements and enjoying it just as much as when I first played.
