Psn hacker conversations
" http://pastie.org/private/erihhjd2ccvj0lkmzbtuw Conversation between hackers of psn, enjoy. It's not a virus so don't worry. "Quick question how do we know this is all real?
" Proves how imcompitant there security really is, they got what was coming. "But what about the people whose credit card info was possibly stolen, and whose personal information was definitely stolen? It sounds like you're looking at the hackers a bit too rosily.
Throughout the whole page I was thinking that these guys should go and get jobs. ha, these guys are assholes.
Seems pretty suspicious. Credit Card info being unencrypted text file? Would any major company be THAT dim?
" Seems pretty suspicious. Credit Card info being unencrypted text file? Would any major company be THAT dim? "Don't believe they said it was in an unencrypted text file, just that the data was transmitted as plaintext, and not encrypted in any way.
its both hackers and sony's fault. and geohot, and the lawyers for the various sides, etc., etc. i just want to play some games and not have my credit card stolen.
" its both hackers and sony's fault. and geohot, and the lawyers for the various sides, etc., etc.I'm inclined to agree but at the same time, I only entrusted my personal information with one of those parties so technically only one of those parties were responsible for keeping it secure.
Its just ridiculous. This whole thing started because when getting a game off PSN theres a field in the method (with a few changes) that allowed you to get the game for free (promotion options I guess) which is absolutely retarded. The fact that they dont encrypt the info while they send it (not just CC but all personal info) is also bad. Theeir dev server was running an old version of apache with "known vulnerabilities", this whole thing is just sony being lazy.

Then, I guess, in that sense, it's our fault too for trusting Sony with that information. All I can say is, Never again.
Hacker 1: Dude I have this super wicked idea!
Hacker 2:Oh really man? Well what the fruit is it?
Hacker 1:Well were all broke..an all hackers right?
Hacker 3: Yes..I see where your going with this..
Hacker 1:You do?? umm where?
Hacker 3: You think we should hack Sony
Hacker 2: an get totally fucking rich!!...right?
Hacker 1: Wtf..howd you..huh?..YES!!
Hackers: LETS HACK THIS BITCH! =D
Any who believes Sony knowing left their network open to this is kind of attack is just dumb, and whether this article is true or fake is meaningless because nothing they say now can be trusted, they will make their cause look good and Sony look bad by stating Sony's network security was poor. Now i know nothing about hacking or computer programing but from what i understand if someone is truly good at hacking then they have the talent to get into highly secure networks, so we have no idea how good or bad Sony's security is/was, if this person was determined to get into Sony's network it was just a matter of time until they did. And what if this whole thing was caused by people running the hacked firmware for their PS3's maybe dick head or someone else was able to use to it to tunnel through Sony's security unlikely maybe, probable defiantly. I know a lot of people are being affected by this (myself included) and it sucks hard knowing that someone got to our data and has caused us to not have access to services we may or may not be paying for, but railing and condemning Sony that its all their fault is unfair, the people who went after Sony and broke the law are at fault.
And fyi i spend 99% of gaming time on my 360 so i am no fanboy protecting Sony.
