Hey GB, I just bought punch out for my Wii, and so far I think its a great game for the Wii.
One of the best games i've played on the Wii since nintendo "abandoned" real gamers.
What are your first impressions of Punch-Out?

Hey, welcome to GB, dude.

While I think the whole "Nintendo abandoned core gamers" argument is really stupid, I think the new Punch-Out!! game is wicked fun. The subtle things they added to the game really go a long way in making the game fresh again. My favorite addition has to be the three medals you can collect for each fighter by meeting certain conditions.

For me, very fun. I just beat Contender mode last night, and while the final boss may not be Tyson, he really packs a punch (pun intended). Caught me off guard a couple times.
The interesting thing is I beat the mode with just motion controls. I think it was actually harder that way than just using the NES style controls but it is possible. Quite a good workout too.

@regularassmilk:

Counter his hooks and dodge his uppercuts. The timing is a bit tricky at first. Also, punch the soda bottle out of his hand when he pulls it out. If you can do that he's cake. =)

Personally I don't think it's worth full price.  It's real high in production values and is pretty fun, but I expect my overall play time to be low.  A lot of people buy shittier games though, so just go with your gut.

im thinking i will probably just hold off until it gets cheap.. i don't buy many games at all but I would definitely rather play something really polished and short (like braid and madworld) over something generic that has a lot of replay value
