I hope this won't just be me posting here, as a) that would be dull and b) I think after two posts the forum demon stops me from posting anyway.
I'm not buying a console on launch day. I've done it before, lots of times, and I've looked a fair bit into both machines that are imminent and thought "nah, not this time". I don't really feel the need to be a day one owner anymore and the most important aspect of the whole thing, the games, don't remotely convince me to alter my stance.
So instead I am going to kick back, carry on playing on my PS3/360 and at some point next year I'll be making a purchase. As to which one, I have no idea. I am hoping that come the summer one of the consoles would have emerged as a clear choice for someone like me (much prefer single-player games, not remotely interested in streaming stuff for other people to watch, not fussed about other aspects such as watching films).
I'm assuming I am not the only one on this, so hopefully along the way other people will chip in their thoughts as to which direction each console is headed.
Currently I am 60% PS4, this is mostly due to having and liking PSN+ and the crazy amount of good games they have sent my way a a result of that service. They've built up some goodwill from me and I am sure they will be delighted that it could mean they sell one more unit in 2014.
