I think some of the biggest games for this generation will release in the next 5-6 months. If you look at all the games that will be releasing between now and the end of March it is hard to argue. Who needs next gen when you have such great games to look forward to. Here is a list of a few games that I think are/will be outstanding among the rest.

23 Forza Horizon & Medal of Honor: Warfighter

30 Need for Speed: Most Wanted & Assassin's Creed III

31 Natural Selection 2

November

6 Halo 4

13 Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

20 Hitman: Absolution

December

4 Far Cry 3

12 Hawken

January

15 DmC: Devil May Cry

February

Crysis 3

5 Dead Space 3

12 Aliens: Colonial Marines

19 Metal Gear Solid: Rising Revengeance

26 Bioshock: Infinite

March

5 Tomb Raider

12 God of War: Ascension

19 Gears of War: Judgement

Possible Releases in Q1 2013

Out of those, looking forward to:

  • Far Cry 3
  • Crysis 3
  • Tomb Raider
  • Bioshock: Infinite
  • Dead Space 3
  • Metro: Last Light

Having said that, how about we wait until after these games have been released before we talk about how high quality they are.

We don't know how many of those games are "quality" yet. But okay, I get your meaning.

Sequel 8 looks amazing. I can hardly wait.

I do keep getting a 'that game's coming out soon?' vibe. Can't believe Hitman is so close.

This, this and this. No game is guaranteed to be good until it comes out and a number of the games on your list I have no hype for, e.g. MOH just looks like the most generic millitary shooter IMO. You seem to mostly just be including all the triple AAA games, and I'm not convinced this list looks noticably better or worse than previous years.

To early to tell. IMO only 3 games you listed are locks to be "quality".

Yep. I'm interested in some of those games but none are guaranteed to be good.

Looks like most other end of the year release schedules, and Q1 has had some really good releases these past few years. Mass Effect 2 and Dead Space 2 both launched early in their respective years.

I would be fine with scrapping all of those if I could play BioShock Infinite right now.
